Hi Alison,

I am wondering if you have learnt any more about the impact of the employment gap on your ILR prospects.

Thanks.

Re: Tier 2 General sponsor change + extension + redundancy

I am not an immigration expert, so this should not be treated as advice. It only represents my own understanding. I recommend seeking expert advice from a qualified immigration solicitor. My questions are: 1. During a change of employment application under Tier 2 general, will the new BRP from my ne...

I need to travel extensively. Frustrating that they need to hold onto passport for the entire duration of approval process.

In what countries can I submit my application for Tier 1

New application for Tier 1 - not an extension. I'm an Australian citizen. Currently resident in Australia. UK Embassy in Australia is notorious for slow approval times (5 weeks). I'd be happy to travel to any other country for submission if that were possible. I don't expect it is. But thought I'd a...

Thanks.
If the applicant has less than 6 months of his/her leave remaining, we will not curtail this leave.
Sounds like if you have less than 6 months of leave left, you can remain until the original length of the visa expires.

Passport becomes full (after I have visa)

I travel a lot. It's very possible that ~12 months after I have my Tier 1 visa, that my passport fills up with stamps and I'll need a new passport.

What implication does this have for my Tier 1 Visa ?

Proof of Maintenance funds - Sample letter from bank

Hi all, Because my bank account is tied to my home loan (see http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=36628), I'm concerned that the clearance officer will misinterpret my bank statements. Hence I'd like to provide evidence of availability of funds by providing an official letter from my ban...

When do new rules come into effect (April 1 or April 6) ?

Hi all,

I've read through many posts and some people state that the new rules (masters + 20k) come into effect on April 1, and others April 6.

What's the official verdict ?

Thanks

Tier 2 (General) - What happens if employment ceases ?

Hi all,

I looked for the answer to this question everywhere, but couldn't find it.

What happens if I cease to be employed by my sponsor ?

Is there a certain amount of time I'll have to find a new sponsor ?

Thanks

It is more like an Over Draft Facility that you have from the bank. I don't think it would count towards maintenance funds as such (otherwise ppl would start showing their "line of credits" under their credit card limits!!). If you are willing to wait for 3 months, I would advise you to d...

I'd be willing to wait, but I don't have a Masters. So come April, I will not qualify.

I do have 2xbachelor degrees with hons and all that. But apparently not good enough come April.
