Re: Code 1a Stamp Using Schengen State !!!!!!! Help Me Pleas

If you were refused on the basis of marriage of convenience, an Immigration Officer at the Border, may well be reluctant to grant you entry in those circumstance. For all other refusal, I would have said yes you could, but for refusal on the basis of marriage of convenience, It is safe to appeal it...

Re: Code 1a Stamp Using Schengen State !!!!!!! Help Me Pleas

I wish I had better news. You could try it at the border in Paris, Calais or Brussels but you should expect a really hard time. I would suggest you try and live together for a little while and provide some real evidence of living together and being in a relationship. If you do it in another EU count...

Re: Do you need PR before applying for citizenship?

Yes I know so much could change but I started thinking about doing the SS route a long time ago and here I am! Especially as Labour seem to be writing off any chance of winning the next election the Conservatives are only going to be more extreme in what they do on things like immigration. The point...

Do you need PR before applying for citizenship?

I don't want to jinx this by thinking about 5 year from now when the RC is still pending but I like to plan way ahead. Currently doing a SS route application. I read that the period for naturalisation is 5 years if married to a British citizen. As the RC is just a confirmation of rights could my wif...

Re: Code 1a Stamp Using Schengen State !!!!!!! Help Me Pleas

You have posted the same message twice. I replied to your other one with a more full answer however without an Article 10 Residence Card you will not get anywhere near the UK border to even ask for a Code 1A. If you go to Calais or Brussels British Immigration Officers will probably tell you to get ...

Re: Code 1A Stamp.

You might have a hard time without an Article 10 Residence Card. We went from Bilbao to Portsmouth on the ferry. Initially the Ferry Company were unwilling to allow boarding and they asked the opinion of the Spanish Immigration Officer who was the UKVI liaison at the port who told them that the resi...

Re: Questions regarding Surinder Singh Route via EEA family

Registering the birth with the consulate is not a prerequisite for a passport and it will not affect how quickly you get it. You have yo apply for the passport by post from abroad from what I remember (I went to the passport office in Hong Kong in person but that has closed now). If you apply for a ...

Re: Questions regarding Surinder Singh Route via EEA family

I can't speak for the Irish system as we went through Spain but I do know an applicants existing legal status does not come into it. Can I ask what is the nationality of your wife? On passports, my child was born abroad and I applied for the passport abroad. It is a different fee and slightly differ...

Re: Questions on EEA FP and Res card uk

You don't need a Family Permit though given how it takes a monyh to get a COA it might help your partner work in Britain. You could travel to the UK tomorrow as there are not normally checks on Ireland flights. Alternatively go to Belfast and fly to the mainland on an internal flight. Not sure about...

Re: Questions regarding Surinder Singh Route via EEA family

I am doing Surrinder Singh now. It is a far more simple route than the spouse visa even without the earnings threshold. You don't need the Family Permit any more. An Irish RC is avceptable for travel however the Common Travel Area between Britain and Ireland means in reality you could just go withou...

Re: Code 1A Stamp.

Sorry I will be as comprehensive as I can be. There actually isn't such a thing as a Code 1A stamp anymore, it was replaced with a new "EEA Regulations" stamp but as they are almost the same thing many people still call it a Code 1A. It is a two part stamp, the standard UK Immigration stam...

I'm glad to hear you got your COA Dirk. It brings hope to us waiting here. I hope we get ours within the week. I don't know if it was related but we did send an email to the nweuro email address on Friday requesting one. I know this is supposed to be for replacements however the guy on the phone su...

Employer status check

My wife got her COA today and presented it to the company who has offered her a job. They have filled in a request on the status check website which says 5 working days but I heard this can vary a lot.

Has anyone got any recent experience of how long it takes?

Re: Code 1A Stamp.

My wife got one (Philippines passport) in a few mins arriving on the ferry from Spain though she had a Spanish RC. There are no routine immigration checks between Ireland and the UK. Hi Dirk could you please tell me when did your wife get this code 1 stamp on her passport. (Date) June at Portsmouth...

Given how COAs are now taking up to 2 months I would suggest getting the Family Permit in Dublin even though you don't need it to get in, life will be easier inside the UK.

One of these agreements is covering freedom of movement and recently the Swiss passed by a referendum a limitation on the Freedom of movement which directly...

Re: Will Surinder singh route be available for next few year

I am very worried about the future of SS and the whole EEA route. It was featured in Cameron's speech outlining his renegotiation terms. I am sure he will be given some small and in significant treaty changes on things like frww movement and ine of those coule be shutting down the EEA family member ...

Re: EEA2 Application Timelines - ONLY 1 TOPIC - UpToDate

We rang back twice after reading @lyztge's message, once my wife and once me and spoke to different people each time. One told her it would take 21 calendar days from the biometrics date, this works out as 15 working days. When I called back straight away and asked the same question they said to me ...

Re: EEA2 Application Timelines - ONLY 1 TOPIC - UpToDate

I called them just now and they told me that COA's are taking 8 WEEKS from the enrollment of biometrics because of the "workload". She asked when we submitted biometrics and I said 15th July so she said "expect it at the end of August".

Seriously.....
