This is a question for a friend.

Her grandmother had an Irish passport. (She is now deceased.)

Q1: Can her mother apply and get an Irish passport based on the grandmother having had an Irish passport
Q2: If so, can my friend then get an Irish passport?!

Hello all I qualify for a student visa for the US. I have always wanted to go on a trans-atlantic cruise, so I would like to arrive in the US (from the UK) by boat. Will this be ok, or do I have to arrive via an airport?! Note I will have a valid visa when I arrive. Any advice appreciated. Thanks!
