Over phone also they were quite helpful and provided us the correct status, and also the tracking nos. The system works, just a bit of patience, and in ca...

Re: Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI)

I came to know from High Commission of India by emails/phone that the passports/OCI have been forwarded to VFS and should be dispatched from there (I always thought High Commission would be doing this.) So we are following up the VFS to get our passports OCI posted across, as we are travelling on th...

Re: Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI)

Hi Hamid, We have seen applications from the same week as yours being processed and coming up in the last few days, so in my opinion, it could be a matter of a few days now. You could wait for a week or 2 to see where this is. In any case, a visitors Visa just takes 3 to 5 days and could act as the ...

Re: Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI)

Just a quick update from my side, they seem to have started talking up Sept OCI applications now. After calling them few times today, they promised to reply back to my last week's email by EOD as my application has crossed 8 weeks duration now. This is the reply I just received, although it appears ...

So it would be the printout of the OCI status enquiry page, payment receipts handed back by them, red covers for the pre-paid courier given by them and the British passports. That should be enough to explain the case to them.
SO now back to the waiting room :?

Re: New sticker rule for OCI (Overseas Citizenship of India)

There was also a mention of taking along the OCI application along with the passports and receipt .. Would this be the original application which was submitted to the VFS, why would they again need to see a copy of the application which is already with them? Can someone please provide a list of all ...

Re: Travelling during grace period

Hi all, We obtained our Naturalization and British Passports in August, 2016. We had originally planned to use the 3 months grace period to travel to India. However when I discussed with the High Commission Advisory staff over phone, this lady explained to me in details and this was her advice: &quo...

Hi, We have got our Citizenship approval letters yesterday, but need to go to India twice in November end and hence wanted to explore if postponing the ceremony if we could make use of the 90 days grace period. Re: KOL new requirement post Oct-2013

Thats right Suchita, NARIC has different rules basedon the Degree category, duration etc. I know someone for whom they didnt accept the PG degree, but were happy with her Graduation degree, although both were from same Univ , taught in English. So,its a wierd world :) Just keep communicating with th...

Re: KOL new requirement post Oct-2013

On second thought, I think Suchita you are correct. Even for new KOL requirement NARIC assessment is enough. Statement of Comparability is required when you need to claim points for your qualification, although it can be used to prove Language requirements also, but if you have assessment letter it ...

Re: KOL new requirement post Oct-2013

Smart Khan, I was not wrong, just didnt cover extensively the topic as I was responding to Suchita's query. My experience is with only Degrees taught in English language as a Medium of Instruction. For the other cases, yes you are very correct. A statement of Comparability or an English Language tes...

Re: KOL new requirement post Oct-2013

To demonstrate Knowlege of English Language, you may either: 1. Get a NARIC letter for English Language assessment (by sending them your Marksheets, original degree and a letter from University confirming course was taught in English as a medium of Instruction) 2. Provide to the Home Office the Orig...

This is more than enough. Beleive me they just see the NARIC letter and are convinced.
I appeared for my same day appointment 2 weeks ago, and got through with this.
Good luck.

Re: Knowledge of Language and Life in the UK

No, I dont have any letter from NARIC yet for this. 5 years ago, they used to check from their database of Universities abroad, and if my Universiy appeared in their list, it was fine. Also I had presented a letter each from my College and University both stating that my Degree was taught in the Eng...

Re: Knowledge of Language and Life in the UK

Hi, I am going for ILR Premium service on 30th Jan using SET(O) form on Tier1 General route. I have proven 5 years ago when applying for my Tier1 that my degree was taught in the English language. Also during my Visa extension, I was not required to present any documentation in this regard. However ...
