Received my Visa today

Received it just in time to fly home and start a job there, no thanks to the UKBA. But at least I have the option of coming back within the next two years! Thanks everyone! Just so you know: Originally applied: 12 January 2009 Denied: 20 March 2009 Appeal Hearing: 20 May 2009 Appeal Decision: 23 My ...

I'm well aware that it should take sometime but I have to be back in the US for a job on 5 Aug. The number of 'important people' I've had write letters on my behalf is the only reason I believe I've even received a response so far. I just wasn't sure if there was a specific time frame other than 'ju...

Length of time after 'call-in' letter

Anyone know how long it takes once you've mailed off your passport? I mailed mine last week. I wasn't expecting it already, but just thought I'd see if anyone had an idea of how long it takes.
Thanks!

Passport call-in letter

Hey Everyone,
So I received what I believe to be the passport call-in letter. I'm only concerned because all it asked for was my passport. Is that correct? I didn't need to send more pictures or anything?

(This may be posted elsewhere, I just haven't found it yet!).
Thanks!

whom can i write for clarificatuion about the work? I can never rely on calling HO as different ppl answer differently. so i want to write. I would recommend calling UKCISA. They have a number that you can call and are very helpful as they generally ask all of the same questions. They have an addre...

No my friends, unfortunaly when I called and specificly asked about being able to work they said Infonaz, you need to check your information or ask for a better clarification because according to the UKCISA website (UK Council for International Student Affairs), If you have applied under Tier 1 (Po...

I understand what you're saying, but the fact is the job I've been offered at home is basically a once in a lifetime opportunity and I'm not willing to pass that up. The visa process was (and is) a complete sham and the visa should have been granted when I originally applied (exact words from the im...

Advice on (potential) post-appeal withdrawal...

Quick back story: Applied Jan 12, received refusal March 5, appealed and had a successful appeal May 20. It has now been five weeks since my hearing (four weeks since the Home Office could re-appeal). I am sending a letter of complaint on Monday and my local MP will also be sending a letter of compl...

Change of Address?

Hey Everyone, Apologies if this is a cross post (if you could point me to the other one if it is, that'd be great!). I'm moving in about three weeks and I'm waiting on my letter to send my passport in to get my visa. When should I change the address? (As in does anyone know how long it takes for the...

I am not sure about your question, but i know that until after you get your visa stampted in your passport, you cannot work full time. I was under the impression that your status remained the same as it was when you applied and as I'd finished my course I could work for 40 hours, but I didn't so th...

'Pursuing a career'

So I was told by the judge that my appeal would be granted, but I'm not sure about looking for work. Once I receive the letter that proves I will be granted the visa am I then able to pursue a permanent position? I'm only asking as it clearly states on my current (extended) visa status that I am not...

Last Minute Advice before Appeal Hearing?

I know people put these up regularly and I've read them, but I figured I would ask as well :-D I'm representing myself tomorrow and I'm 99% sure I have a sure win case, but just thought I'd see what everyone had to offer. From what I've read, dress nice, keep to the documents I've presented and try ...

Thanks! It just confused me because I'd received a paginated index from the AIT with all of my documents. So just to clarify, in this one I send one with all of the documents I'm calling on to prove that the decision they made was wrong?

I received my notice of hearing this morning and I'm confused about the second page (Directions). You must send the following documents to Asylum and Immigration Tribunal to the above dress and to the respondent, to arrive no later than 5 days before the date of Full Hearing. Actually, I don't believe the home office was incorrect. If you applied before a certain date (I can't remember the exact date but on or around Oct 31), then under the transitional arrangements you only had to have the money in your account for one month. However, I think you applied outside of the ...

Re: Get a solicitor

Do not pursue things on your own, get a solicitor, if your's is a straight forward case, you can always negotiate, but getting a solicitor will give you peace of mind Its a bit late for that and your suggestion seems a bit like scaremongering. I would debate why I shouldn't hire a solicitor but tha...
