Re: New immigration rules

Came across this yesterday https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/cbp-9920/ Apparently the Government is making plans to have 'Transitional arrangements' for those who are already in the UK and they may be exempt from this. Please see below the question that was asked in the parliam...

It should be automatically refunded in 6-8 weeks, however, last year it didn't happen in my case and I had to escalate this via their contact centre.

Re: NHS IT Roles (New Skilled Worker threshold change)

Thank you. By any chance, would you know if NHS would be willing to withdraw the COS if I dont take up the job and go for another job. I am sure they would, but you would need to inform them if you are no longer interested. To qualify for skilled worker visa on new salary thresholds, I think you ne...

Re: NHS IT Roles (New Skilled Worker threshold change)

Hi, I have been offered a Band 6 position for NHS IT role (Non-Clinical Staff) and they would be giving me a COS. I have a couple of questions: 1. Will NHS IT roles be exempted from the Minimum Threshold (£38,700) as the new immigration rules states that NHS workers and National Pay Scales will be ...

Re: New immigration rules

If you have valid visa until 2026, I don't think they can curtail your visa in between and ask you to go back if you do not make 38k. However, we are unsure about whether the new changes would be applied retrospectively (doubt it), and whether those in the UK would be affected by this, or are these ...

Re: New immigration rules

It didnt clarify whether this would impact those already in the UK, I suppose it would. Not sure if there is a wider review of the going rates for all other occupations.

Re: Skilled Worker Visa Extend

Thank you both. Can you please also confirm when the 'continuous period' starts? so in our case, the BRP were issued on 1 Nov 2021, and we (self, partner and daughters) arrived here on 15 Nov 2021. From which date the 5 year period starts? I understand as per the current guidance we can apply for IL...

Hi there, I am due to apply for Skilled Worker visa extension at the start of summer next year. I know it is a bit too early but just wanted to confirm if the extension application follows the same documentation as before i.e. CoS from employer, maintenance funds etc. Is the visa application fee £70...

IHS refund - overlapping period

Hi there, I applied for 3 year Skilled worker visa (Nov 2021 to Nov 2024) and paid IHS as part of the application. Last year, I switched my job to a new employer and paid IHS again (Aug 2022 to Aug 2024). The IHS was paid twice for two applications for Aug 2022 to Nov 2024. I was under the impressio...

Hi I am planning to apply tourist visa for Switzerland, however, I am planning to take my car and will enter EU through France. Re: Visitor visa - Rental Income

The monthly income is around £1400-1500, out of which half is usually deposited in to the bank account and remaining half is used for monthly expenses. The question is not about the amount, rather how to justify this in the documents? We are thinking of submitting property registration papers, tenan...

£400 Energy Support for all UK Households - Skilled Worker?

Hello there, you might be aware that UK Govt is offering £400 energy support to all households in the UK with electricity/gas connection. I am not sure whether this comes in public support or not. I have tried to look for answers but couldn't figure out. The Gov.Uk website (https://www.gov.uk/govern...

Re: IHS Refund Delay

Spoke to UKVI contact centre earlier today. They said since you raised the escalation on 2 Sep, you would have to wait another 6 weeks before refund is processed. Apparently, the escalation is now sitting with the refund team.

They have asked me to call back if I dont get a refund by mid October.

Re: Using previous IHS number

The application form does not give you any option to enter any IHS numbers. It would automatically take you to the IHS payment page.

I recently got my visa updated, and had to pay IHS again. Because of double payment, you should be eligible for a refund.

did you apply prioirtuy or standard and which city did you apply from in london or outside?
I applied on standard service and used the online app to verify the ID, so I never had to go to the UKVAC.

Got reply in exact 8 weeks.
