Re: Which rate is applicable for skilled workver visa inside? standard rate or lower going rate?

Those who were in the UK before 4 April and have had Skilled Worker visa are eligilble for lower rates. https://www.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa/certificate-of-sponsorship-before-4-april-2024 clearly says this: If you got your certificate of sponsorship before 4 April 2024 There are lower salary requi...

Re enter UK with 2 months to BRP expiry

Hi there, My wife is planning to take a trip to Pakistan during summer this year. By the time she travels back to the UK, there would be 2 months and 10 days left on herBRP. Is there anything she need to consider while making this return journey, does it cause any issues at UK border or Pakistan imm...

Re: Extend or Update visa

There is only one process, an extension. There is no such thing as 'updating' a visa. It is a new CoS and a visa extension. But the Skilled Worker visa website gives two options; Update your visa if change in employment, job etc. or Extend visa if the job/employment is the same. Are you saying ther...

Re: Change of Occupation Code - Extension/Update?

Hi Sorry, I think I didn't make myself clear. My job is exactly the same as per previous visa and my employer is the same as well. UKVI has recently updated the Occupation Codes, due to which the occupation code for my job has been updated from 2424 to 2440. Considering the update in occupation code...

Re: SW Visa extension queries

Just checked your going rate.

Its 51700 under new rules and 39300 under previous rules. 39300 will be applicable to you, however with your salary, you should be fine either way.

Re: SW Visa extension queries

I am in a similar situation and my SOC has been changed from 2424 to 2440. Do we need to apply for extension or update, since SOC has changed?

I don't think the salary will affect you, as you will be treated with previous salary threshold, however slightly increased due to inflation.

Re: Change of Occupation Code - Extension/Update?

It is an extension One of the requirements for extension is, the job is in the same occupation code, but mine is changed from 2424 to 2440, so how come it is an extension? Extend your visa You can usually apply to extend a Skilled Worker visa or a Tier 2 (General) work visa if all of the following ...

Your current visa remains valid under the SOC it was issued under. When you need to extend at the point before expiry your employer will issue a new COS, only then will the new SOC code be required.

Yes thats fine, but at that time do I apply for extension or update???

Thank you. It will impact those already in the U.K. on the skilled worker route. These changes will not be retrospective.
do we know for certain that a wider review of all going rates is beign done? The last revision was back in Aug 2023, not long ago.

Re: CoS date - SW extension

You can apply for a Skilled Worker visa extension 60 days before the expiry of your current visa. The COS is valid for 3 months, so it should not be assigned too early to ensure it covers to the date of application. Thanks, and what should be the start date for the new CoS? My current CoS was issue...
