No reply yet from the Home Office and its been over a month now since I wrote to them. I have now written to my MP who has very kindly taken up this matter with the high-ups in the UKBA. Ethan - did you apply in person? I beleive the procedure is different for postal application where the letter for...

That depends on the nature of your offence. Could you elaborate a bit on the nature of your offence. The Home Offence will ignore minor offences such a speeding fines etc. but for others you have to serve out the minimum sentence until it is cleared from your records.

Backdated ILR - HSMP JR

I successfully applied for my ILR under the HSMP JR from the Sheffield PEO on 01 July. Everything went smoothly except that they did not know anything about issuing the backdated ILR letter. I now know that they should have done so, but I did not get one at that time. I have now written back to them...

Many congratulations. Did you get a letter for the back-dated ILR? I got my ILR at the Sheffield PEO last week based on the HSMP JR and the caseworker had no idea about issuing me with such a letter. Now I have had to write to them to send me that letter.

ILR Sucess at PEO Sheffield

I got my ILR approved at the Sheffiel PEO today under the HSMP April 2009 JR arrangements. I had a 1000 appointment so gt there by 0915 and they started the process early. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Very smooth process. They only asked for my bankstatements and employment letter. Also look...

Parking Tickets

Hi all. Just started preparing my application for the 4 year ILR. Quick question about Section 7 - Personal History. Do we also have to declare parking tickets. I have a 3 point speeding ticket, which I know I have to declare, and one parking since I have been here and want to be sure I declare all ...

Called up at 0859 and the only way to book an appointment is to be open to any location in the UK or else they are fully booked. I got 01/07 in Sheffield.

At least they are now confirming that PEO is available under the 4 year rule. Still asking for the LIUK though. I though that had been waived.

There isn't any formal guidance anymore. Its all down to teh case workers discretion. The accepted practice (based on information provided by other members on this forum) appears to be that a single absence should be of less than than 3 months and the maximum number of days should be less than 180 i...

With the time the Home Office is taking and may take in implementing requirements of the JR, along with the delay in getting the ILR processed via the PEO, or if disallowed, via post - the JR benefits might become almost irrelevant to most holders of the old HSMP visa, as they would be close to 5 ye...

Child born while ILR application in Process

I face a slightly unique situation. I am now eligible for ILR due to the recent court ruling, but due to te time it may take the Home Office to implement the rule and the time to process the ILR, it could be that I will either get my ILR just before our child is born, just after our child is born or...

Reply from Home Office Regarding JR

Has anyone applied, or planning to apply under the old ILR rules? I contacted the Home Office to ask them about the implementation of the recent judgement, not much of a reply: Thank you for your Email. Following the Judicial Review judgment of 6 April, UK Border Agency (UKBA) are currently looking ...
