Not Indian so have no idea about the grace period and it's application. But I can tell you that I didn't have any trouble entering the UK with my old passport + ILR after I've become a British citizen a couple of months ago. (I had to travel for work in short notice, and did not have time to apply f...

What questions does HO ask referees?

Hi members

My citizenship application was submitted a couple of weeks and just found out that payment had been taken.

Does HO usually call referees to check on the applicant? And does anyone have any idea on what questions HO typically asks?

Thanks in advance

Congratulations!

Join the league of the all the people who have wasted money due to visa being only days short.

But hopefully your company will reimburse you all the costs you spent on Tier 2 (my company did) so you only have to pay for ILR.

HO uses Royal mail second class recorded delivery, unless you supplied pre-addressed delivery envelopes with your application.

You can not apply under Tier 2 Transitional Arrangement A if your new job is different to the one you held with the WP. You will need to meet all the requirements as a Tier 2 new applicant (as opposed to an extension under Transitional Arrangement A), that means meeting the language and maintenance ...

Technically, she's already been over-staying for the past 4.5 years. She lost her right to stay in the UK the minute she switched employment. So I wouldn't worry too much about over-staying. She should write to/call HO for official response.

If it doesn't require a resident labour market test and your employer hasn't used up all its allocated CoS, it's pretty much instant. Otherwise, it will take some time. Resident labour market test requires 4 weeks advertising. I'm not sure how long it takes for an employer to apply and get approval ...

I got really scared last night as I'm about to extend my Tier 2 on Friday and then ILR in a month (Sadly, my visa is 7 days short even with the 28 days concession). I reported my change of address this morning. I actually moved almost 3 years ago. Luckily, the local police was nice (the place that I...
