Are you sure about if the application is accepted for the review than it doesn't mean the overstaying is stopped??? No. Out of time applications are not covered by section 3C protection. regards Thanks for your reply! Very useful answer. This is the University advisor who advised him to overstay to...

your friend overstayed from 1st November 2010 to when he left the country on 22nd January 2011. The fact that he made an application on 19th November 2010 doesn't mean that he stopped overstaying at that point as the application was made out of time. Therefore the decision to refuse entry clearance...

Overstaying

This is a question for a friend of mine. His Tier 4 visa expiry was on 31/10/10 and he took another course and had to extend the visa. Due to not collecting all documents to score on the funding section, he overstayed and applied a Tier-4 renewal on 19/11/10. This application has been refused on 05/...

Yes, I believe you will be in a breach of law here if you have a work permit to work for a specific company and not a HSMP (Tier 1)

The problem is UK authorities know more than you can imagine. So always try to play smart and assume that they know you overstayed. Now, had you overstayed by 1-2 days due to xx problems, it would have been ok. How can you explain that you overstayed in the country for 6 months? This would be treate...

As most of you know, it takes around 6 weeks + post office delays to get the first British passport. The problem is that I have to travel next week and only recently applied for the passport.

Thank you guys! This is no problem for me to travel on non-British passport and going through non-EU corridor. My only concern was that I do not want to be stopped at the border due to being a British citizen, but travelling on the non-British passport. I hope I am not gonna have any problems with t...

Personally, you would mention this. However, did you read the notes for ILR? What does it say?

Re: Domestic Problem and citizenship

I am really sorry to hear about it. However, lets be honest. 1. If you have a criminal record, you are very unlikely to receive a citizenship. Someone on this forum was taken to court because of speeding and he was refused the british citizenship! 2. You can write to the HO, explaining that she has ...

Re: ILR

Hi, I applied for ILR thru the Premium Service. They were unable to make a decision on the same day bcos i had a break of 3 months 8 days (total in 4 years - 160 days), 3 years ago. I had explained this gap in my coverletter as being away partlyon business. They said it was a valid application and ...

No you do not, unless you did not pay and had been taken to the court.

The same applies to speeding fines.

This is a very difficult topic. As far as I can see the Home Office had (a) questioned you were a genuine student, (b) thought that you have violated immigration laws (enter/exit/visa expiry). Probably they made a few enquiries to the school in the UK you were studying. What kind of visa are you app...

After naturalisation, I have to wait another 6 weeks for my Btirish passport.
However, the problem is that I need to travel next week.

Does anyone know if I can travel on the other passport (with ILR)?

I have seen 2 of these cases when people applied and did not declare certain things, and were refused for employing deception. Personally, I have never used an immigration lawyer as I can sit down and spend 2-3h to understand what documents I need and what form to fill in. Though I would agree that...
