Child benefit - son not born the UK

Hi,

I have recently got my ILR and was told by my friends that I can claim child benefits. Is that right.

Also, my son is not born in the UK. If I can claim child benefits; would he be eligible to get the benefit?

Thanks, Kiran

Thanks linkers and goldfish.

I have a quick question. The passport never tells when someone leaves the UK, how do they actually check when the person left the UK.

Only the entry is stamped when you arrive in the UK. There is no way to tell when the person left the country.

Just got hold of more information. speeding or parking tickets are not required to be given in the set(o) form. http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/britishcitizenship/eligibility/goodcharacter/ We will carry out criminal record checks on all applications from people aged 10 and over. You must also pro...

Thanks aanu23

I understand its not criminal conviction but do I still have to mention on the set(o) form ?

I have read few posts in here, most of them says its not required to mention but few of them says we have to. Not sure which one to follow?

Anymore information please.

thanks, Kiran

Isn't the marriage certificate a way to show cohabitation with other supporting document ?

As Barodian mentioned he just submitted marriage certificate, I was wondering only marriage certificate is accepted.

Absence from the UK

I reckon you check with GP if they can address it to HO (if you explain to GP that the letter is for VISA purpose, they do provide required information). But i think 'whom it may concern' bit should be enough. As HO need proof that both were living at the same address. If HO wants to verify they wil...

I have got a similar letter which is addressed to 'whom it may concern'.

Note - I have my PEO appointment mid March, so I cannot confirm if they accept it but NHS is one good source the HO considers.
