I called Liverpool yesterday (12/03) and they told me that a decision was made on Thursday (11/03) and that my passport etc is waiting to be despatched by special delivery. So that's good news. I don't know yet what their decision is, but at least they have made one within 6 months.

We have sent an email to our local MP this afternoon, so fingers crossed! We will keep you all posted on how that goes. SOLVIT my husband is pursuing our case with them, so we will keep you guys informed once we get any news. Fact is all we can do is keep the pressure on and not lose hope. Those ar...

I am of the opinion that the EEA FP route is not for you. The EEA FP is for family/extended family members of EEA nationals who want to join their EEA family member in the UK. You can't just fly to Geneva and apply for the EEA FP and return to the UK a few days later. If you went to live in Switzerl...

I think it's pathetic for them to use the excuse that people have been waiting longer than me so I'm not going to have my case resolved sooner. Who's fault is it that other people have been waiting since 2008? I'd love to see what is going on in that office. Can they not offer their staff some overt...

I've just called Liverpool and have been told that "the notes on the system suggest that they are close to making a decision" and I should know by the end of the month. He wouldn't tell me what the notes were. He said there's nothing they can do to process it faster and I've only been wait...

If you intend to stay until June 2012, then I would put 2.5 years. I put 2 years in my application, and included a short cover letter explaining our situation, and that my husband and I intend to live in the UK for approximately 2 years so he could further his career before moving to Australia (wher...

I applied on the 14th of September, so my 6 months is up in one week. I sent Liverpool a fax last week to give them a heads up and asking if they could expedite resolution of my case. I was expecting it to take a lot longer than 6 months, so if I could get my RC in the next few weeks I would be ove...

When I applied for an EEA FP (twice) in Madrid, I had to submit an online application before being able to choose an appointment time at the consulate. I had to print off the application and take it with me to the consulate otherwise I would not have been allowed in. I had to submit biometric data t...

Getting registered at the doctors was easy, we just needed to open a bank account in her name for proof of residency. We are still awaiting her National Insurance Number, but think ...

Phone number for EEA2 applications?

Hi, Sorry if this question is answered elsewhere, I've been searching for the answer! What phone number do you use to call the HO to find out the status of your application? I applied in Sept 09 and sent the further info they requested in Dec 09 and haven't heard back yet. I've tried calling a few n...

It is still worth doing a SAR to get your full file. Don't trust any random UKBA person you talk with on the phone, even if you have their name! Smooth sailing on the Residence Card application. Remember to keep copies of EVERYTHING and document EVERYTHING. I'm sending off that request this arvo. Â...

(10) I can not see any point in applying for a Spouse Visa under UK law. It is expensive and I suspect likely not to be issued. Thank you for your post, very helpful. Can I ask why you think the spouse visa may be refused? The IO at the port said he was 99.9% sure I would get the visa. When I submi...
