frustrated

The only other course I can think of is to get your local MP involved. It does appear to put a boot up their backsides so to speak. The other thing to consider is to see a doctor regarding depression due to your situation. When it comes to moving up the chain the HO have to consider cases out of tur...

ILR

After over 3yrs got the MP involved again and our case is now being dealt with as legacy (even though not originally an asylum case but 14yr rule). Had to provide yet more proof and photos as everything out of date! Hopefully should only be a few more weeks now.

Legacy case

After over 3yrs waiting using the 14yr rule our MP wrote to the HO again and we have recieved another letter asking for further passport photos, and bank statements etc to fill in the gap as "they are no longer recent"... no surprise after 3yrs really! BUT this does mean that we've now act...

Don't count the months, you'll waste them. My partner has now been waiting 3 years for a decision on the 14yr rule and we have wasted so much time letting the cloud over us spoil our time with each other and the kids. I've stopped looking for miracles and now just living day to day. Good luck

Thankyou for your kind words. I just hope that things go smoother for you than they have for us. I am currently trying to get the mp involved again and have an appointment to get a letter regarding the impact the situation has had upon my mental health. All I can say is no matter how trivial a reaso...

history

Originally came from Jamaica in 89 to see family (rest of his siblings were born in this country). Been working under different name since day 1, been advised by solicitor that this should be overlooked (hopefully). Only one member of family left in Jamaica (grandfather), partner is now 47yrs old. N...

ADVICE needed re: ILR application

My partner applied for this under 14yr rule at the beginning of 2006. Got a child (4) together and 2 others. He has never claimed public funds in any way and has been in no trouble. THREE years on, thousands on solicitors, a mental breakdown, input from my local MP and yet still NO response from the...

ILR timescales

Hi, I don't know whether I'm in the right place but here goes. My partner (Jamaican) has been here as an overstayer for 20yrs now. In May 06 we recieved acknowledgement of his application under the 14yr rule. We've got a 4yr old together and 2 more. THREE years now and nothing! Is this normal? It re...
