OCI application takes about 1 month. You can get a tourist visa in 3 working days - check with VFS. If there is an emergency you can apply for emergency visa.

If the previous passport was issued in India or London you can get it quickly. I am not sure for what reason they gave a delay for your wife. I had a similar problem. Since I got my passport renewed in Houston USA they said it will take 1 month. They wanted to get a confirmation from the Houston Ind...

I think your reference 2 is risky - Is the IT consultant having his/her limited company and director of it? I would still suggest to look out for a professional person as specified in the UKBA home office ( Accountants, Driving instructors, Directors of VAT paying company etc)

Hi Anantahari,
Your approval letter seems to be worded different to the one that I received. Which council do you belong to ?
My approval letter had an address and number to contact to discuss the appointment. May be you could speak to your council and see what happens.
regards

Raja
I think you should contact the council and speak to the citizenship ceremony officer. Chances are that the person whom you spoke to may not be aware of the process

Qualified Accountants are listed as professional referees and can sign your application. If your accountant works at your company ( I am assuming that this accountant is not your limited company accountant) then mention as work colleague.

ban.s. thanks. But it was not clear. For example : "Cheques/Drafts/Cash by Post are not accepted. High Commission will not be responsible for any Cash sent by Post. We accept Cash or Postal order only at the counter while submitting the application in person." It would have been better, if...

OCI submission - TIPs and experience

Submitted my OCI application today - a) I was not aware that it is Cash only or PO only. Was under the impression that credit or debit cards would do. Went out to withdraw the cash after getting my token. b) Though I had taken copies of my revoked Indian passports, the counter person said was not ne...

You can either take the naturalisation, apply for british passport which comes in about 3 to 6 weeks. Then apply for surrender certificate of your indian passport and take an Indian visa. Otherwise you can use the Indian passport for 3 months from the date of naturalisation

NCS charges around £50 .. but I dont think you can get a solicitor or immigration consultant to charge less than that. Notary publics too charge you over £50. The process through NCS is very easy - mine took less than 30 minutes and they return your passports immediately. So cost wise and convenienc...
