Your case looks weak even if it were upto caseworker discretion. People overlook the 180 days rule on 5 years with some explanation/evidence but going over 90 days at a stretch literally resets the clock because, as required, 'you were not resident in the UK' and your previous time does not count. H...

Salman, Note that the CRB check will show ANY unspent convictions on your record. UKBA have clearly stated you have declare any unpsent convictions. So whether its traffic violation or robbery, if the CRB check says you dont have unspent convictions, then you really dont have unspent convictions. It...

Salman, If you paid the £200 and they later returned to you, do you know why they did this? The court will not return the fine unless 1. You were not found guilty of that fine 2. Initially found guilty but later ruling changed due to some reason. Either ways, if they returned the amount to you that...

If these are original paylsips then you should be fine but even then, its best to have all bases covered and get the Statement of Earnings from HMRC - why put yourself and your mind in turmoil over this.
You can request now and it will reach you inside of 2 weeks time :-)

Under current rules too there is a Character requirement - if you read the guidelines on UKBA, it clearly talks of unspent convictions and not having any for ILR. It is not separated out as Criminality requirement but embedded within the Good Character requirement itself. The only statement that mak...

I have just applied for it and it will take about 3 weeks in total to process this information. This is not an instantaneous process and there will be some background checks done. BTW - If your fine was returned to you then this means the fine was revoked so I doubt you have anything to worry about....

To make it simpler, on the Criminal Records Bureau site, click on Umbrella companies then find all approved umbrella companies who can request for a Basic check on your behalf.

Checking for Unspent Convictions yourself....

Hi, I believe it is possible for a person to request and check if they have any unspent convictions. This is similar to the case where jobs mandate a person to be Security Cleared. The options are 1. Basic security certificate (thats shows unspent convictions) which a person can apply to check their...

Thanks xyz, When I applied for Tier 1 I had not declared Speeding Fine as Criminal Conviction. I also remember asking around and Speeding is only a traffic offence (under certain limit of course). As there was no 'conviction' given in the literal sense of the word, I left it out as it did not equate...

Speeding Ticket on International DL

Hi, I have gone through a lot of posts and theres mention of many scenarios of speeding ticket but not clear for International license holders. While legally driving on Int DL in May 2008, I was given a ticket for going at 42mph in a 35mph zone. As there is no record with DVLA, all fines for Interna...

To add to above post, advance consists of 2 things 1. One month's rent in advance paid when you move in 2. A maximum deposit of 1.5 months rent held in with a legal deposit company like DPS (Deposit Protection Scheme). This is now a mandatory means of holding a persons deposit. There are still some ...

Just to be on the safe side, you might as well carry all documents than end up being asked a 100 questions and spoil your entry to a new life in the UK. As you have the job offer plus paid airfare, it should be relatively straight forward. Carry a copy of the offer letter, any official comms between...
