Sorry, but you sound a bit confused.... You were aware of his drug issues, but you stuck with him and had two kids... he has a right to be in his kids' lives and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it. Why did he trick you into supporting his appeal?? Common, you're smarter than you're makin...

They have an employer's checking service, but its for your new employer to contact them. They wouldn't speak to you at all. You could go for the interview, etc. Don't mention the visa issue until u're asked. I did same last year they only asked on my resumption date and I directed them to the employ...

Just to inform everyone that my friend won her appeal... the result came last Friday. The evidence she gave, satisfied the judge that the relationship was subsisting as at the time of the application and that was all that was needed! There were so many discouragements, even from lawyers, but she stu...

My friend appealed in Feb. She was due to be heard today 19th July, and I was going with her as well. She got a letter yesterday afternoon saying new date is 8th November!! Did they clarify any reason for that on giving new date of hearing? Sorry I'm only just getting back. They said 'lack of court...

Thanks for your replies guys... She was married to him in their home country ever before he applied to come to the UK, so I think its wrong to say that she came to the country for him. I dont think that because she was on a dependant visa, she should have less rights than him (though it appears to ...

Its the circumstances at the time of the decision that matter and not at time of the application, so if by the time the decision was made the marriage broken down she wouldn't qualify for ilr on the basis of their relationship. However clearly the fact that she has two British children means that s...

Which from the information you've given, it appears he has done. Hence the refusal of ILR. Yes he did, but he gave a wrong date of Nov 2011 which was untrue....I feel that if he actually gave the date as DEC 2012, it would have had no bearing on the application seeing that they applied together in ...

This passage from your post is confusing: They're still susbsisting (i.e living together, looking after kids together, and sharing financial responsibilities). Its only the intention that has changed when he applied for the divor ce on 27/12/12. If they are still co-habiting, how is the non-molesta...

And I'll add that, according to my understanding of the HO requirement, 1. They needed to have a subsisting relationship as at time of application 2. They needed to have the INTENTION to continue their relationship as at the time of application. They're still susbsisting (i.e living together, lookin...

We've had similar immigration timelines and whilst I've gotten ILR now, she's going through court battles to get hers. She came to the UK in 2007 with her husband (entry clearance got in Nigeria), they were bot...

Re: Another success story

I received our BRP cards this morning! I am thrilled though a bit angry with UKBA for taking almost 8 months to process the application. I am also surprised that we got the BRP cards even before the approval letter and our documents but I don't really care what came first! My prayer is for all of y...

My employer has insisted, at this point, that I allow them to write a "hurry up" letter on my behalf, but I doubt it will do much good! They may ask your employer to call the 'employers checking service' for a 'right to work' certificate. They gave mine a certificate last september and it...
