Re: ILR if Tier 1 and unemployed for 4+ months

Hi, I had a similar query as yours and found out the relevant information on this link http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/policyandlaw/immigrationlaw/immigrationrules/part6a/ If you read 255 AAA (b), " Except for periods when the applicant had leave as a Tier 1 (General) Migrant........" it...

Re: ILR Success Cardiff PEO 28th Jan 2013 (Semi-Premium),

Thanks, will do. My ILR is not due before May next year but have started preparing the list. Will include the tenancy agreement and a utility bill. Probably you might have some info- I was unemployed for about four months of my entering UK, would that be a cause for concern to show 5 year of economi...

Re: ILR Success Cardiff PEO 28th Jan 2013 (Semi-Premium),

You are a star! Congrats.

I learnt from you that the council tax document will suffice to show my wife has been a cohabitant for two years. I did not have a joint bank account till just 2 months ago .

Best wishes,

Re: Query realted to 5 years of employment

Many thanks for your reply. It is reassuring to know that 5 years residence is required and not 5 years employment. I have read posts in which applicants were asking how to complete previous employment documents to prove their continuous employment. Hence I started to have doubts. Hope that is not t...

Query realted to 5 years of employment

Dear All, Thanks for your time. I arrived in the UK a month after my Tier 1 visa in 2009 and got my first job six months later. Have been in contractual but continuous employment since then which helped me get my first extension after completing 3 years. Concerned as could less than 5 years of emplo...

PEO Croydon- May 29. Successful

Just wanted to let all hopefuls know that I had to spend the entire day of close to seven hours with my wife and two kids on May 29 at Croydon. Delays were due to incorrect reading of my wife's biometrics the first time and slow "computer system". Had to retake the biometrics just for her ...

Universities that I applied to for a part-time Phd were in the dark to say the least. Universities either give a Tier 4 visa or a home student status(UK and European citizens). Hence you should contact the institution first to confirm if they will let you be a part-time student when you are a full t...

Re: Studies on Tier 1 General visa

Just wanted to let you know that during my search for a part-time Phd I read on a University's website that because of new international students regulations, distance learning is the only alternative to full time studies. This is not linked to Tier 1 General status nor getting the ILR but a limitat...
