Student visa and ILR

Please can someone kindly let me know if student visa counts towards the (5 year period required for applying for) Indefinite leave to remain in the UK?

Simple question:

Does student visa count towards the 5 year period required for ILR application?

I arrived in the uk in 2005 and have lived here eversince.

My visa status:

Feb 2005-sep 2006 > Student visa

Sep 2006-Present > Work Permit

Please could someone kindly advice me? Thanks x

So the qualifying period started from 15 September 2005, so 28 days before fulfilling 5 years that will be 18 Aug 2010... If the work permit was issued in July 2005, assuming it's a 5 years work permit then it would have expired by July 2010, before you can apply for the ILR? Is this an issue and c...

Ah... this adds a few more elements to my reply to your other post. What did the Tier 1 refusal letter say? Long story! i applied in feb 2009 when i was still employed...they returned my application cause i forgot the police certificate ..by the time i resent the whole thing, their rules had change...
