Passport application & OCI

Hi

I have now made the passport application on the 7th September and understand that it can take upto 6 weeks.

How long does an OCI application take to get approved? And what is the process ?

Would appreciate your help.

Thanks

Hi,

I would like to get ILR for my parents (father: 65 years and mother: 60 years)

I am a British Citizen.

Has anyone got this visa successfully? SET (F) application.

Thank you very much.

Its clear to me now. I can apply for OCI after British Citizenship which would solve the purpose so that I don't have to apply for a visa to visit India.

Cheers

John

Thanks for the reply.

I have now entered my Scotland address so that it would be easier to attend the interview somewhere in Edinburgh.

I have got an Indian Passport. I think India doesn't allow dual nationality. Not sure.

Thanks,
Rags

Hi, Yes, quite lucky I would say. I was only calling them to inform about my change of address from the next month and they advised me that a decision on your application has just me made yesterday :-) The NCS was based in Hamilton, Scotland. Very professional and friendly. They pointed out an impor...

Thanks John. I appreciate all your inputs because I would know what angle and at what level of intensity and attention to details I need to provide while making these applications. It always helps. The 12000 INR is a rough guess by me and my brother based on what he use to earn when he was employed....

I send in £200 every month which is equivalent of 16000 INR and the pension is 12000 INR.

So my contribution is about 57% of their total expenditure per month.

Thanks for the response. I am pretty impressed with the details specifically around the village visits. I am not sure if I would be able to justify a pension amount of 12000 INR. Let me see what happens and update you lot. Many thanks again for all the information that you guys have provided. It is ...

Thanks for the response! I wasn't talking about making them poor and homeless just for the sake of the home office application :-) haha The SET(F) form doesn't stress these points clearly. The way I read form F and guidance notes was, Yes, my parents are financially dependent on me and my brother be...

Hi, Thanks for the reply. Good to see the way home office would be evaluvating the application. All the points you have mentioned are subjective topics. Any idea on how ourselves as applicants and Home office prove each of these points? Example: If someone mentioned that they are homeless / close to...

Referrees

Hi, When you guys said that the application would be straight forward, if you had the right referees, Is there anything in specific that I need to be aware of? I have gone through the home office website and there is a list of people who can act as referees. I have chosen one of them as my accountan...

Queue for Nationality checking service depends on which location you apply for I suppose. I can speak for the one in Scotland. I left my name and number on the voice message and it took them 4 working days to return back to me (Excluding the weekends). I was called up on the 24th June and the appoin...

Hey John Looking at it from your point of view, it feels correct. I own my own Limited company. I have got company accounts till the 31st August 2008. After that I don't have any accounts or records. From your point, I am an employee of my own company. That way I have got the P60 which covers the pe...

Hi, Yes, I have read through the AN guidance notes. The documents checklist section says: If you are self employed, you need to provide statements from HMRC for the period of time you were self employed. Also I wrote an email to UBBA Nationality enquiry at Liverpool and the reply was that you can pr...

ILR granted

Ofcourse I can. I have lived in the UK since August 2002. However, in 2003, I had a gap in my stay in the UK. My Work permit has been continuously been active for the period of time I had been away from the country. In 2005, I applied for HSMP and was awarded HSMP in August 05. Then applied for an e...
