He is due for ILR next month, he has been here for 2.5 years now. ... he had registered council tax under both if theirs name and some bills preparing himself for the application in advance. Sounds like he was using your sister to get into the UK and misunderstood the rules, as well as how forgivin...

This is a great letter and on point. I hope the UK government sees the failing in their ways and implements the necessary changes to fairness and equality.

Thank you. Being a doctor I strongly bilieve in 'being safe than sorry'. this means another 5000 pounds. i am defintely voting for labours. Costs have gone up consistently for the last 3 decades (atleast) irrespective of the political party in power. It's hard to imagine that's going to chan...

I am sure I am not the first one either, what do people do in such case?
They don't qualify for citizenship at that point and wait until they have established such relationships.

Re: Referee for Citizenship appliaction

By 'professinal qualifications' for engineers, they mean having membership in a chartered society of that field at a professional grade level or above. For IT, that would typically be membership in the BCS (MBCS, Fellow, CEng). For electrical engineers, the IET. And so on....

Thank you guys. I didnt have enough money then to apply for their ILR with our application. Their sister(my 3rd child) was however born here after (later corrected - before my ILR and I have applied for her to register as British citizen. So I dont know if that would help if I apply for their(2 chi...

Re: Application for British citizenshi for child born outsid

Were the children born in the UK DURING your stay on a Tier 2? If yes, then why didnt you proceed directly with Registration through MN1 (Section 1/3) and then passport for them? Taking a look at the poster's history, it's evident that the children were born abroad. If not born here, you should hav...

Re: Application for British citizenshi for child born outsid

The 'succeeded' example may have been a special circumstance as I believe the child got discretion due to having siblings that were already British citizens, a scenario that is specifically given weighted consideration. My advice would be to go ahead and hop through the necessary bureaucratic and fi...

Case is straightforward... From my experience on this board, I'd say that whatever the opposite of 'straightforward' is, is what your case is. In that regards, my first advice is to get an experienced qualified immigration lawyer. It looks like you've got a real battle on your hands, but seem willi...

I am very reluctant to nationalize,... I'm not sure your application would be successful anyway as there is a good chance you would be refused on the basis that you are already a UK citizen (it's happened). What date did your mother become a British citizen? I'm presuming it was after you were born?

But specifically (with passports in hand...) are you allowed to travel (I guess before the BRPs with previous leave there should be no issue, but post?) As far as I'm aware, an MN1 registration application is not invalidated when the registrant leaves the country. An application for a new BRP does ...

You're assuming that EU law will have any relevance in the UK whatsoever after Brexit. This will likely not be true in many many cases, if at all.

Effectively, they will have more rights in the UK (by having both British citizenship AND EU freedom of movement for their family) than other British citizens, both born here and non-EEA citizens who have naturalised. Nobody knows what kind of 'rights' EU citizens will have after Brexit at this tim...
