Thanks for all your replies. If the baby is born in UK, it will automatically be british if only one parent has PR or only if both the parent has PR? Yes, the child automatically has UK citizenship if either one or both parents has ILR. We ourselves not sure if we will apply for british citizenship...

Technically you can apply. Make sure to provide plenty of strong evidence of strong connections to your home country and everything required in the guidance. In reality, you will likely be denied a visa because the Home Office won't feel that you will actually return to your home country if granted ...

I do believe that the UK's intention is to reduce the number of Tier 1 extensions and discourage their related immigrants to come into the country. I believe they are going to do this irrespective of taxes or any other benefits that Tier 1 migrants may bring to the UK. Tier 1 is being singled out be...

...wish to imigrate to the UK permanently. Start by reading the link posted by Vinny and see if your husband will actually qualify for any visa. IF dell would be willing to transfer him - then you're looking at a tier 2 intra-company transfer - which requires you to qualify via a points system: htt...

This is also telling of the relative conservatism of the UK border agency. If your gender roles were reversed, you almost certainly wouldn't have any problems whatsoever. Really unfortunate.

There is no 'type of spouse visa' for 3 years. It sounds like she was given discretionary leave, in which case she can apply for ILR after completing 6 years in this category, not in 3 year's time. Yes, I assumed that there had been a change to the spouse visa that lengthened the qualifying time to...

I'm trying to get the exact details on exactly what kind of visa it is, but I'm assuming it is a spouse visa of some type, considering the short wait period to get ILR. I'l...

Wouldn't he have to meet the new salary requirements if he applies under the WP route? I don't believe this would be necessary under the ten-year route. It would be a good idea for him to check on that.

How is a country the size of England capable of supporting this many people and growing? The answer is complex, but it must be obvious to anyone here, including those posting on this thread, that England is struggling right now and has been for some time. This goes way beyond jobs and employment. T...

Re: Worked for six months without FLR from Jan to July 2006

Not that I'm complaining, but, what kept the HO from kicking me out and having me reapply for entrance clearance from the US? I mean, technically, I was working illegally even though I had a work permit but, no FLR. Also, the HO has been approving my Tier 2 extensions with no problems. So, what sav...

Slippery slope. Breeds the type of attitude I heard from an acquaintance - she was white from Africa and so didn't consider herself a migrant. To her, migrants were those without white skin. Do you think its wise for the UK to abandon any new immigrants into the country? Think twice before you answer. Hi, I am rather confused this morning. I have taken time to read through a lot of posts but can't seem to find a definitive answer.
