Just go to your branch and ask them to issue you a statement for the past six months. They will do so on the spot. You don't need it stamped if you're in the UK. They trust their own people :)

He simply has to wait for a letter from the British High Commission, Delhi. It takes a minimum of six weeks from date of the AIT approval. Due to delays, it may take 2 to 2 1/2 months.
