Just wanted to share my experience. I passed this test successfully on 26th June. It wasn't that difficult and took me 7 minutes to complete (including double checking all answers). And I wasn't the first one to finish! Couple of people completed the test in around 3-4 minutes. My advice is: get the...

I seem to have the same problem as you, AlexCh.
I spend more time at work than anywhere else, hence most people who know me are my colleagues.
I know that you will apply for the citizenship soon.
Could you let me know how it went with referees?

Good luck!

I think it is assumed by default (if you tick "Work permit holder" in the SET(O) form). It would have looked strange if one applies in such category and doesn't present original Work Permits, wouldn't it?

Got ILR in Birmingham PEO

Hi All, I would like to thank you members of this forum for their knowledge and experience they share with others. Today I have been granted ILR in Birmingham (Solihull) PEO. I had 2 Work Permits and applied exactly 4 weeks before completing 4 years. I've been asked to produce the following: 1. SET(...

Applying for ILR: questions

Hi All, I'm going to apply for ILR as I've been on WP for 4 years. I came to the UK on 08/07/01. I've just booked an appointment in Birmingham PEO for 08/06/05, i.e. one month in advance. I explained my situations and was given an appointment without questions. But I found two discrepancies: 1. The ...

Translation of documents for ILR application

Hi, I am going to apply for ILR as I am completing 4 years on Work Permit. My wife and daughter are applying as dependants. The SET(O) form requires that all supporting documents must be in English. If delays an issue there is always the option (albeit challenging) of an out of country WP visa/ entry clearance application. Could you elaborate this please? WP and FLTR processing times

Sorry if it is an old question, but does anyone know why it takes so long to process WP and FLTR applications? Introducing fast procedures in HO since 15th July didn't speed up the whole process. Even know it takes them 40 days to process FLTR application. That makes nearly impossible to change empl...

Work Permit and FLR application

Hi ALL, Now Work Permit application and FLR application are separate. Is it possible to get a Work Permit approval, and then go (in person) to one of Home Office branches, i.e. Croydon, Birmingham? Will it be faster way then applying by post? Current times - 6-8 weeks are ridiculous. Does anyone has...

My last year's income was partly because I sell some shares, not my salary. Does it make any difference?
I can sell some shares now to overcome £40K threshold.
Will it be enough?

Last year income less than 40K

I have got another question: how strict are past earning requirements?
I am in the UK and since April 2003 I earned 39941 pounds.
Can this income be enough to gain 25 points?

Thanks.

Ok, after a bit of research, I found the following: 1. It seems a person needs to get both Work Permit and LTR before start working for a new employer. you should not start or continue to work unless you have an approved IED and limited Leave to Remain approval 2. There is a same-day service for suc...

Changes in Work Permit and LTR processes

In the past one can start to work for a new employer right after receiving approval letter from Work Permits (I am talking about in-country application only) and later receive LTR stamp (usually it took about 2-3 weeks). Work Permits has recently separated Work Permit approval and LTR application. W...
