EEA2 Application Questions

Hi! I'm putting my EEA2 applications together. I have a few questions, and I hope someone is able to help. 1. My EEA Family Permit expires on the 15th January. I have plans to travel back to Ireland with my partner for Christmas and will be returning to England on 4th Jan. Should I submit the applic...

What have you been doing as an accounts manager? Do you like accounting? If so, complete the ACCA professional qualification, as well as the project required for the degree in Applied Accounting from Oxford-Brooks. This could help you. If after you qualify you can manage to find a job at an internat...

If my partner is still self-employed when we submit our EEA2 application, will her VHi Global insurance plan (which is stated as Comprehensive) suffice? I'll be a full-time student on a PGCE course, and as such, I'm technically covered under NHS, even as an international student. If my partner needs...

You must apply for an EEA Family Permit in the US for you and your daughter. Even without the adoption, as your daughter lives with the EEA national, the child is allowed to enter on an EEA Family Permit. The UK requires an EEA Family permit for all non-EEA nationals who wish to join or accompany th...

As you know, the EEA FP is good for 6 months so no need to 'rush' into the EEA2 process. On the other hand, you may want to submit your EEA2 application as soon as is possible and request your passport back for convenience of travel, opening a bank account, securing a lease and other ID-related reg...

Thanks for the reply! We finally submitted the application at the Embassy in Dublin, and just 10 working days later, the EEA Family Permit was approved! Yay! Now the move is a go and bring on the long EEA2 process.

Oversight on my part... As you are an unmarried partner of a EU national you may not be allowed to work until such a time when the UKBA acknowledges you as the 'family member of a EU national' by issuing you with a RC. However, this should be done within 6 months from the date of receipt of your ap...

Has anyone applied for an EEA Family Permit from Ireland? If so, how long did it take after your appoint at the embassy? I have my appointment on 15 June, and we are hoping to move by mid-July. Reading through all these post, the UK seems to be almost just as bad Ireland with this. I can't believe t...

Re: Move to Netherlands EU National/Non EU Spouse

Hi, My husband and I and my two kids have been living in Ireland on the EU1 permit since 2006. With the drama with the EU1 we only got it sorted in 2008 October. We are thinking of moving to the Netherlands. My husband is English and I am South African. Does anybody have any experience with this? W...

Another thing to note, make sure that if your wife has been working that she has filed her US income tax returns with the exemptions form. Even though American's are exempt from paying taxing up to $85,000 in earning per year, tax returns still need to be filed with an exemption form showing you do ...

Unnecessary!
It's unnecessary, but I sent mine anyway, and now they are asking for it again. I will send a copy of the original acknowledgement letter and show them they already received it.

If you applied for a Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen more than six months ago, have not yet received it and have not had a positive response to a letter of complaint to the DoJ, contact Solvit . Re: overstayed due to DOJ

Don't think this will be a problem. As far I knnow they won't stamp your passport while leaving the country. And if you are questioned, you have the correspondence with DoJ, so it should be fine Ireland will not stamp your passport when you leave, but if you are flying back to the US, then your pas...

While the EEA national does not need to register with immigration, the non-EEA national does. Wrong. @ kabuki thanks, I understand. I am only just wondering why DOJ should be making this as an issue when the law is very clear. I can understand that most of their implementation of the EU Directive 2004/38 is totally unlawful. first the issuance of 1 months visa at the port of entry to family member...

If they want to be part of the EU, then they need to abide by them at all times, not just when it's convenient. The French, Germans and Italians break EU directives on a number of issues. According to EU treaty rules, it is forbidden to bail out eurozone countries(Greece). Then, remember the arms d...

Not issuing a stamp 4 is against EU regulations. Not issuing temporary Stamp 4 to family members is not against EU regulations, but issuing temporary Stamp 3 is. My apologies. I meant by not issuing the Stamp 4 and issuing the stamp 3 instead, taking away the persons legal right to work is against ...

This is a case of Irish Policy. The Irish are never really quick to fix it, just plug it up and worse ways until it bursts again. However, EU law is definitely easier than national law in many of the EU countries. This is why many are happy to take advantage of the Surinder Singh rule. There are thi...

Here's another thing, although each state is entitled to have its own criteria, this is taking the piss http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/WP07000278 de facto relationship and an increase to 4 years. But that's for "non EEA nationals who wish to remain the State and are in a de-facto relatio...
