I was born in Jamaica. When my son was born I was settled in the UK (ILR). I applied for Citizenship I year after my son was born.

Delays @ Home office

Sent applications 3 weeks ago via NCS. Money taken. No acknowledgement letter. Nothing so far.

Spoke to NCS today. I was informed they haven't received anything from Home office for over 2 weeks now.

Wonder what might be the problem?

The fine should be declared and should not cause a refusal, there is some discretion to refuse depending on the offence but not likely in your case.
