Yes I am living in London and there was a report in daily mail newspaper about postal backlog in our area and mails being sorted on the pavement due to sorting office employee strike !!!

will wait for one more week and then call Home office...

Posted my second application on the 11th of Aug and HO took money from my account on the 13th of August. Still waiting for the passport and other documents... On top of that there is a strike called by Royal mail and thousands of letters are waiting to be delivered in their delivery centres... reall...

Isnt this ridiculous? Legitimate applicants who are paying most of their hard earned money as taxes to UK govt are bearing the brunt of their immigration rules !

The application was made invalid on 31/07/2009. Our documents were returned to us on Tuesday 4th of August. Our debit card was refunded and the money reached our account on 12/09/09.

Thats right.. the UKBA number is not reachable. But if you hold the line for nearly an hour, the call may get connected.

I think the fee will be refunded within 35 days !
