It is almost impossible to get a NI number within 10 days of landing in the UK. You usually have to wait one or two weeks to get an appointment. That said congratulations on getting the job so quickly, now go to the local JobCentre to get an NI appointment and go to a local bank to get your account ...

Somebody told me that home office is very strict about that. Do we need 3 different statements for each months or...

Insurance is not covered for Tier-1 holders. What is provided free of cost is the medical check-up facility similar to Indian Govt. hospital. Insurance is different thing which you need to take yourself for you and your dependents. It is not mandatory. It's entirely upto you and is a personal choice...

Here you go mate. Please keep in mind that this needs to be on official letterhead of your company and it has to be dated after the period for which you are claiming the earnings.

Therefore, you should submit both old and new passports.

In addition to what above members have replied, there are some levels of Security Clearance where non EU citizens cannot even be eligible. For example, if you try to apply for a job with BAE you need be a EU citizen as well as a UK resident, and then obtain the SC on top of that.

This is probably a silly question, but better safe than sorry. I currently hold a HSMP visa since 2007 and am about to apply for extending/switching to Tier 1 (General). This HSMP visa is stamped onto my current passport. Prior to applying for the HSMP, I was in the UK as a student and my student vi...
