VT, perhaps you should consider changing your solicitor or contact Citizens Advise Bureau or Law For All and they will provide further assistance. If you have yet to receive an acknowledgement, then write a cover letter with the name, DOB and nationality of the applicant together with your address ...

VT, the law changed last April and it is no longer necessary for your partner to have NI number. The legislation is The Social Security (National Insurance Number Information: Exemption) Regulations 2009 . So VT, if I were you, I would write on the form, where it asks for your partner's NI number, ...

You hope he gets caught and removed from the country?

There are lots of people on this forum who are illegally in this country, with partners who claim benefits and have children here..

But if there's a reason why you feel you should attack me and me only, then fair enough.

I dunno the history in your case Chana and no comments were directed at you :) . For the other case , the guy made the choice to be an illegal immigrant and has had 10 years to change that ... but did nothing to get himself to be a legal immigrant. The country he comes from is not at war or anythin...

NI and Housing Benefit

I've just printed off a housing benefits application form and it is asking for the NI number of both the applicant and the partner. My partner doesn't have a NI number and it states that without one, they cannot process the application. I saw that somebody had asked a similar Q the other day and som...

i contacted the job centre i was told that i couldn't claim Income Support due to the fact that i was living with my partner. A non-dependant deduction couldn't be taken because that only applies to friends, relatives or other people who may be living with you. Again I am appalled. Are you circumst...

We have been considering moving to another EU country and exercising a treaty right there but we don't have any money what so ever to help us to set up a home etc. Also, would it matter that i'm only 18? Probably 19 if we decide to use this route. Would we be garunteed to receive an EEA Family Perm...

VT, the age 21 is enshrined in UK immigration law and you either need to wait until you are 21, or hope someone wins a Court Case on the matter and then the law gets changed. However age 21 is not enshrined in EU law, and thus a possibility is that following the marriage you and your (then) husband...

And the HO will ask what is preventing her from living in Nigeria if another ludicrous article 8 claim were to be raised. Just a comment: I certainly would not want to find out the HO welcoming my living in Russia with my Russian wife, claiming we could lead a happy family life there, notwithstandi...

VT, I can understand how upsetting this must be for you. You could apply for an Unmarried Partner Visa when you are 21, with proof that you have been living together for more than 2 years. However, as this is some time off, you do really need help now. Is there any way you could seek professional a...

U can access public funds, u can't claim any extra because of ur partner. U and ur child are fine. These benefits are geared to support of the claimants, no more. This is where u will struggle until u can find full time work, as u cannot prove u can all survive without public funds. The 18 yo rule ...

Folks are reminded that it is not the HO job to tell people where to live. We live in a society with laws, rules and regulations that exist, to govern us. The HO jobs is not to act as a BNP agents, I will be very concerned if it was. Their job is to assess an applications and see whether or not an ...

I fail to see any way in which the COA can help you, except enabling you to become legally married to your partner. The risk associated with obtaining the COA and then getting married, far outweighs the one attached to not applying for one. There is a possibility that the HO might want to arrest yo...

I don't really know where to start! I posted something on here a few weeks back but since then i've been to the council and they have told me something that i wasn't aware of. Also been to the job centre and made a claim for Income Support as well as already being on Maternity Allowance. Anyway, I'm...
