Hi, My wife is applying for an ILR as her 5 year period is 7 Aug 2022 and her Tier 2 visa expires 25 August. We are completing the application online and have a couple of questions. 1. Absences - she has over 30 absences in the 5 year period but online application only takes 30. Do we need to provid...

Hi, Good day. My wife is about month+ away from hitting 5 years of her Tier 2 and hence is applying to apply for ILR. Her employer wants to create a letter of sponsorship as such they are asking for the UKVAC centre. She has not made the application yet so she is not aware of the UKVAC. How do we go...

Entry to the UK before starting Tier 2

Hi, My friend got a Tier 2 general. She is starting employment 10/08 but needs to enter the UK from Canada, in transit to Croatia on 27th or 28th July for a night or two. She will then return to the UK several days before starting employment. I understand that she can enter under Tier 2 14 days befo...

Re: Expediting a Tier 2 visa

She has to apply and pay online, including health surcharge. Booking appointment is part of this process. There is nothing that can be done to expedite. What is the rush anyway? Needs passport back to be in Europe for a family wedding. I am still unclear: 1. From the point of getting the COS and go...

Re: Expediting a Tier 2 visa

Thank you. If she gets the certificate of sponsorship on the 12th, how quickly can she get an appointment to submit the documentation? Is this something that the VFS global can expedite?

Thanks

3. Priority service but no guarantee it will be processed quicker even for the extra fee.
What is the value is using a service like VFS Global in this case versus going directly?

Thanks

I did get the visa, subsequently extended it in 2013, then ILR in 2015 and UK citizenship in 2016. Thanks all for your help!

Re: Options after Tier 5 visa expires

There isn't really one but returning soon after Tier 5 expiry will raise a red flag. She has to convince IO that she is a 'genuine tourist' and based on what you re saying, she is not, especially after 2 years in the UK on Tier 5. Does she have a UK born grandparent? She does not. There must be a p...

Hi, My gf is a Canadian and I am a UK citizen. She is currently on a Tier 5 visa due to expire in a couple of months. Her current employer cannot sponsor her for Tier 2, so she is looking for roles elsewhere. While this is our main strategy, what alternative options do we have if she does not find a...

Re: Confirming earliest naturalisation application dates

Stamp in your passport is sufficient. Also, make sure that your window of 'physically present 5 years ago' is not so small that it creates a problem (i.e. you were in the UK for 2 days and left again). Will you apply through NCS or by post when the time comes? I will be applying through NCS. I am s...

PEO Appointments - How to Best Secure

Hi, I need to have the PEO appointment on Jan 6-10, 2015 (my Tier 1 extension expires on Jan 15, 2015) but I am traveling beforehand. I understand that appointments are released 40 days beforehand. I tried to, today for example, go and select a Jan 1, 2015 appointment (which is exactly 40 days ahead...
