Hi Strongbow, that still pose the same question: Is the child automatically entitled to "child's certificate of entry in the Foreign Births Register" even if none of the parents nor grandparent were born in Ireland?

I sent the same question to the embassy but did not get a reply yet.

Hi, As I recall: the cert was not exactly "signed": it had the ministerial seal...they took 6 weeks to issue it in my case.
