Two things on my wish list (from the HO)- 1) They should have a dedicated section in the website that goes into some detail about the process they follow whilst processing a naturalisation application. Even a high level overview will do to ease anxiety among applicants. Based on what friends have to...

I agree with Yarons 100%. By granting someone ILR you are in effect giving them the permission to make Britain their home and to settle here permanently. Therefore I was surprised to see them ask about my 5 year address history in the UK given that I submitted all this and more (council tax papers, ...

Tell me about it Taliska...I've been on tenterhooks since the day I applied hoping and praying that my application is approved quickly...more so because I want to go home to India for Christmas and will need the time to take the ceremony, get the british passport and then get an Indian visa.

Good luck Taliska although I suspect that they would probably at this early stage in your application be returning the supporting documentation. I also say this because the approval letter for one of my friends and indeed for a few people on this forum has come through normal 2nd class post. However...

Racing Fire did they say why they needed more time?? what is holding up your application? did you ask?

Well on the bright side atleast you know that your application hasn't been declined for whatever reason. Hang in there mate...you'll get a positive decision.

Cheers

Re: waiting time

Guys I took the average of all these numbers posted by Racing Fire and the result is that on average it takes 36 days or 5 weeks for the HO to process the application from the point of submission. Be interesting to see if this differs for postal vs NCS applications. As a suggestion can I request mem...

Hi Tonyz, Sorry to hear that you've had such a tough time with the process. Not really sure what they mean when they say the application is still under progress. Did you apply through a lawyer or urself? also are there any complications in ur case? did you leave the UK for an extended period of time...

Folks obviously the upcoming postal strike (damn whoever is to blame for these strikes !!) will have an effect on when we receive communication from the home office. Just wondering if it effects the timelines for the verification checks that the home office carries out?? any insight?

Naturalization fee

Dear all, I am a bit worried as the HO haven't yet charged my credit card. I applied via NCS, Westminster on Thursday the 8th of October and my application definitely reached the HO the next day (have checked on the Royal mail website). Is there anything I can do? is it worth calling the HO to see i...
