Will previous overstay affect Student Visa

I went to the UK in August of 2009, and was told that i was only to remain a month (however the stamp on my passport was valid for six months). I stayed until November. Will this affect my chances of getting a student visa for Sept 2010?

Does overstay affect issuance of EEA Family Permit?

If I have overstayed on a tourist visa, is it possible to be issued with an EEA family permit, or will this be held against me?
