Re: Tier 2 (general) to Spouse ILR clock

It's within the Immigration Rules, but if you search the forum you'll find many examples. All legal residence will count for ILR under 10 year long residence and for British citizenship. Ah so it's only for the 10 year route that the clock doesn't reset (if I understand you correctly). I did try se...

Well that sucks :(

Is there any specific law or case law around this, or just from experience?

Tier 2 (general) to Spouse ILR clock

I've been living in the UK now for a little over two years on a tier 2 (general) visa. We've been considering a switch for me into a spouse visa for the additional flexibility. We meet all the requirements so I doubt the application itself would have any problems. My question is, does the 5 year clo...

Tier 2 General issued Wife already in UK

I was just granted a Tier 2 General visa and will be entering the UK in a few days. My wife (a British Citizen) is already in the UK visiting family. I just have a few fairly simple questions. 1) What should I expect when entering the country? Specifically will it take longer than the normal waiting...

Changing Address During Application Process

Hello all, I asked this elsewhere (in the timeline section), but figured it would be more appropriate as it's own topic. I recently applied for a tier 2 general visa from the USA and the application went to the New York Consulate. The lease on my apartment is up at the end of the month, and I'm not ...

Right, and since I am the only one with income at the moment, and though the income will continue when I move, I am not currently in the UK and therefore my income doesn't qualify. Which though I do make much more than the savings requirement still isn't exactly feasible (its over $100,000). I just ...

So basically, if my wife can get a job set up that meets the financial requirements that starts within 3 months of moving we are fine. Otherwise we have to have savings (which I'm still unclear on minimum amount needed, but I can research that more here). To further clarify, my income, even if it co...

It was my understanding that since my wife is currently living with me in the United States, and the bank account is jointly owned (basically we are one unit as far as finances are concerned) that as long as the income is continuing and can be proven it should be fine. As for savings, isn't it somet...

US Citizen working for US company in UK with spouse visa?

Hey all, So, I recently received approval from my US based company to work remotely full time from the UK. With this my wife and I were planning on moving back to the UK on a spouse visa with my income being used to satisfy the requirements. All was going well, and we were prepared to file for the v...

Questions about Financial requirements

Hello all! So my wife and I have been married for a little over 2 years and currently living in the US. Life being what it is, my wife is ready to move back home, and we are looking to do so soon. I currently am working for a web hosting company, with the ability to work remotely on a permanent basi...

The concern is not so much about the passports, as much as will they let me across the border as her husband, or will they decide its too much of a risk that I might stay in the UK. As for my savings, well its a bit wiped out now, but it is definitely possible for me to scrounge up 5,000 pounds in t...

Visting spouse

Hello all, First of all I want to apologize if this is in the wrong place, please move if needed. After much time and effort my wife (a UK citizen) and myself (a US citizen) were just married last week. It was a wonderful honeymoon, if a bit short, but now the hard part begins. The US visa process. ...

Isn't it a bit too late to apply for a visa at this point for visiting? I'm also concerned because I am currently unemployed and don't really have much money. I will be staying with a friend who will be covering everything (not much to cover really just food and a place to stay). I doubt I would qua...

Thanks again

urgent american visitor question

Hello all, Hopefully this will be an easy one. I was in the UK to visit during/after my divorce (long story of course) and while there I met someone special. I was there from May 2009 to November 2009. I was sure to leave a couple weeks before my visitors stamp expired. For my birthday my mother sur...

So it is perfectly fine for her to come over we get married and then she heads back? I just heard from a lawyer who said that this can be considered fraud because the intent would always be to immigrate. Just dont want to end up on the wrong side of the law.

Ok another question. This time possibly a bit easier... I hope. So I my mother agreed to be a joint sponsor so thats the money issue out of the way (i think it is anyway). K-1 visa Financial Questions

Hello, Well I was in the UK for the past 6 months and while there the woman I was with and I decided we want to get married! And that was the easy part. Spouse Visa Finance questions (tricky one)

First off I want to say that this message board has been an invaluable resource for figuring out what to do. Secondly I apologize if this one is a bit long, but it is a bit complicated. Now for some quick back story. I went out to the UK for a visit last May and fell in love with someone and decided...
