Hello Members, I’ve a question on PIO card. My son has PIO card which was applied after our ILR in the UK back in July 2013. The PIO card is valid until July 2018, same month expiry as his first British passport. I have read on Indian High Commission and VFS website is that all PIO cards are being c...

Re: Subsequent tourist visa application from India

Thanks both for helping me. The reason he is coming back so early is to help us out with keeping our little child at home while we attend work. I know home office sees this doing a work but actually its not work, he is just helping us with childcare cost. Visa was granted from 29th May to 28th Novem...

Re: Subsequent tourist visa application from India

Yes it will be a problem and likely will be refused. How long has your father been "visiting" on his current visa? He was granted six month visa in May which is expiring end of November. He is going back to India on 28th November and will stay there for a month before applying tourist vis...

Subsequent tourist visa application from India

Hi, I have obtained British citizenship last year. This year I invited my father to stay with us on a tourist visa from India. His stay is coming to an end in November but we require him to stay a little longer with us. I was thinking he will stay with us until his visa expires in November and then ...

Informational Post - OCI application

I went to VFS this morning to submit my OCI application (single application). The VFS guy at the counter asked me to provide two pre-paid envelops – one for returning the original documents that they kept and other was required when OCI application is approved. I challenged the guy that you only nee...

Re: Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI)

Hi All, Query slightly related to the above post. I have been given an appointment to surrender my passport at VFS for 25 May, which off course is a Bank Hol. Re: Original Birish Passport needed while submitting OCI App

That is not true. I applied this week and the the original passport is returned when applying. Only a photocopy of the original passport is kept by VFS. They will also hold onto to the original Naturalization Certificate and Surrender Certificate. Thanks for the confirmation NOG. Appreciate you hav...

Re: Original Birish Passport needed while submitting OCI App

VFS check your UK passport against the photocopy but return it back to you before you leave. Once your OCI application is approved you will need to take your UK passport back to VFS. They will post it back to you along with the OCI card. Good luck. I have just spoken to VFS customer service and the...
