There will be court hearing, but according to police officer 3 points deduction is likely. I am not ...

I am thinking to switch my current status from work permit to tier 1. Unlucky enough, I was caught by police with a traffic offense. I don't know what sort of influence that would be towards the outcome of my application.
Anybody has any idea out there?
