You know what, I think the best way we can do is telling all of international students in our university about this visa problem, especially non EU students. The more people are involved in this consultation, the bigger chance that the UK government gives us attention. I just sent an email to Inter...

Will it be possible to switch from PSW to Student visa

Ok, here is my question: If the government makes the law that you have to apply for new student visa outside the country, will it be possible for current Post-Study Work visa holders to apply for student visa (university degree) still inside the country? (to moderators - sorry for previous misunders...

Re: Can I invest in BB / Hotel ?

Hi Is it possible to invest 200K by buying Bed and Breakfast and running it? I noted before on HO website that they prohibited business in property business area. But now can't find this page. Will BB be treated as property business? Basically, we buy house for 300K which is BB and continue to run ...

Even if you can't vote here, you still contributed to this economy. All international students have a right to vote and unfortunately I end up voting in favour of LibDams, that’s was a biggest mistake, shame on them who didn’t stand by their pledge which was completely in favour of immigrants. ...

Also don't forget to ask your friend and family to express their opinions. Make it easier for them, provide them with links, forms, etc. This government need to understand that they are dealing with human beings here. Were are not some sheep. So make your voice heard! New rules must apply only to new arrivals

Hi You all can participate in public consultation. http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/documents/policyandlaw/consultations/students/ Please participate. I think we must demand that new rules must be applied to those who arrived to UK after 2010. All who arrived before 2011 had some expect...

Very good idea. Thanks for the link. I think degree-level student should be able to apply from inside UK. This is too stressful otherwise. I also think they must provide long transitional arrangements for those who already in UK and planned their life according to current rules. And also universitie...

Hello Thank you very much in advance for your answers or comments. I have a question. If me and my wife get Entrepreneur visas, is it Ok if we employ our own adult children who are already UK citizens as those 2 full-time employees needed for this type of visa? Is it allowed by Home Office? Of cour...

Hi I have a question, Thanks very much in advance for all answers. I lived in UK for 8 years, legal stay without any problems. Now I have 2 years left until I lived for 10 years and my current visa will run out in 1.5 years time. I plan to go to study for PHD degree, in 1 year anyway, so it looks l...

Maybe it is wise to deliver your application by yourself in person, but I'm not sure it's possible. But if it's possible, I think it may be the best option. Contact HO and just ask them that you are worried about it and if you can deliver it yourself and how.

Listen, right now nothing is 100% certain. They may change PSW for 1 year only or cancel it even for people like you. I think you will probably get it but nobody can say now anything for sure. They will launch consultation at the beginning of 2011 and it will last for 2 months. So in early March, po...

At the moment nobody can tell you exactly what will happen. It looks like they will scrap (cancel) Post Study quite soon, so probably your friend is right. However, it is highly likely, that they will provide transitional arrangements for people, like you, who already study for degree. This is not 1...

Thanks Vinny. It confirmed my knowledge that it is given for 2 years. Probably it also confirms that it is given exactly for 2 years without any single additional day. However, it would be great if someone who already got Post-Study could confirm it. Thank you!

Simple question

Hi everyone , thanks in advance for your answers.

Is Post-Study issued exactly for 2 years since the date of issue or do they give little bit more as they often do with student visas?

I am sure it will be harder to get ILR/citizenship. I am sure it will be harder to live 10 year legally for ILR. But I don't think they will remove the right to get ILR after 10 years legal stay. Do you think there is high possibility they might? By the way, Labour confirmed about a year ago that P...

Pity? Dont pay then, nobody force you to become Brit. Many people would pay 20 times more and be happy.

As Immigration Rules are delegated / secondary legislation , the government doesn't need an act of parliament to make it more difficult for people to become eligible for settlement (under the UK immigration law). regards I am sure it will be harder to get ILR/citizenship. I am sure it will be harde...
