NCS appointment

I was wondering if it's ok to book NCS appointment within 2-3 weeks? Or is it better to do it earlier than that?

BRP and NCS

Can anyone who submitted their applicationgs at NCS after 2 April share their expiriences. Did they have to submit their original BRP, or was the copy of it taken, and the original BRP returned to the applicants? I am really concerned about it, as I have some important travel plans later in the year...

Re: Single Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) and british citizensh

Hi in regards to BRP card, I submitted mine with NCS yesterday. They advised to tick yes for BRP enclosed and the NCS Person wrote on the box below attested copy is attached.. so hopefully that answers your query.. Sorry, I didn't get that. Are you saying you submitted an ORIGINAL brp, and that it ...

Re: September 2014 - Naturalisation Application Timeline

I think you need to calm down. I don't want to be rude, but it's none of our business how the British government does these checks. If you look into the recent report from inspector general, you will see that they have a risk- based approach to more detailed checks, and rightly so. If they checked e...

Re: May 2014 - Naturalisation Application Timeline

Its not annoying if they said your application is not allocated to the caseworker because they never can allocate an application to any caseworker until his/ her checks been completed. How do you know ?where you got your information from? I remember reading in an earlier report (also by John Vine, ...

Re: Will renouncing British citizenship cancel my ILR?

Once you obtain citizenship, your ILR ceases to exist. So, if you renounce citizenship, you will be back at square one, ie a person without any valid leave in the UK. But it beats me- why are you already thinking about renouncing it, before even applying for it? Under what plausible circumstances ma...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Pro

Those who have received the approval - do you get individual approval letter for each applicant or a single letter for the everyone. Also, if it is single letter for everyone who applied together do you get details of all applicants in the letter? The reason why I am asking is on the acknowledgemen...

Re: Possible reasons for non systematic delays?????

hunanuk, noone here can explain the reasons for these very long delays, because noone actually works in the Nationality department (and even if somebody does, he/she is bound by non-disclosure rules, so they will not tell you.) People can only speculate, based on non-verified assumptions. Like you d...

Re: HO on planned changes to nationality casework process (!

Thanks, t123456789. sagareva and you are right. The decision maker will normally refuse an application if within the 10 years preceding the application the person has not been compliant with immigration requirements, including but not limited to having: a. failed to report b. failed to comply with ...

Re: HOW DOES THE SYSTEM WORK?!

We know from the recent report about the UKVI that delays are not caused by checking with foreign governments, because such checks do not take place at all!!! Not quite true. I quote directly from the report: Managers told us that they were unable to conduct overseas criminality checks unless there...

Re: HOW DOES THE SYSTEM WORK?!

From my limited understanding, some applicants fit "high risk profile". For them, a large number of checks are done, e.g. through security services, Interpol, foreign governments, HMRC etc.

Re: "Good Character" requirement - tougher rules suggested

summer08, I wouldn't worry. If they make a requirement for applicants to produce police certificates from their countries, I don't think it will affect already submitted applications. But for others who apply later (especially those who lived abroad in a number of countries), that may be a real pain...

Someone above has said that they changed their appointment from Croydon to Solihul, and were "very pleased" with it. Well, one cannot compare experience in Croydon in 2011 to Solihull in 2014, because Croydon is now much better than it used to be. I had mine and my partner's application th...

Re: May 2014 - Naturalisation Application Timeline

As regards external checks, I have read somewhere that HMRC has a strict limit on the number of checks it allows the Home Office to conduct on its database per month. This may explain the backlog, if HO has a number of applicants whose tax records it wants to check. In AN form, a number of other che...
