Re: Travel after naturalisation but before passport

... by way of update, I decided to apply for a British passport, ahead of my travel abroad next week. It was risky, bit at the end of the day I recieved the passport and all the supporting documents in one week.

Very impressed with HMPO service.

Delivery of British passport and supporting documents

Do I understand correctly that new British passports are delivered by DX, and supporting documents- by Royal Mail Special delivery (for those who paid 3 pounds at Check & Send)?

Re: Travel after naturalisation but before passport

I got my citizenship recently and unfortunately do not have time to apply for a British passport before scheduled travel on holidays. From reading this board, it appears that people in this situation have not had problems entering the UK on their foreign passports+BRP+citizenship certificates. What...

Re: Can I use my own envelope when sending a passport app?

This may sound rather trivial, but I will need to send 2 application forms, 4 passports, and 2 citizenship certificates together in one envelope when applying for the passports. However, the envelope which is provided with the application form is rather small, and fitting several documents like thi...

Re: Can I use my own envelope when sending a passport app?

You will get the certificates back folded in half. Use check and send and ask them. I would imagine that each application has to be sent on its own with its own supporting documents. Thanks. The reason I wrote this is because it's written on the supplied envelope that "if you are applying for ...

Re: Travel immediately after naturalisation

Your ILR and therefore BRP is invalidated when you get naturalised. But carry it anyway in case foreign immigration officials need to check your immigration visa. Also carry your naturalisation certificate. Yes, I meant to say that BRP was supposed to be shown when boarding a plane abroad. So, I pr...

Travel immediately after naturalisation

As there is not much time left before Winter holidays, I may need to travel out of the UK before being able to apply for the British passport. Do I understand correctly that travelling on the citizenship certificate+foreign passport+ILR BRP is fine? Also, do I need to complete a landing card, saying...

Re: July 2015 Naturalization Application TIMELINE ONLY

Hello everyone Congratulations to all who received their approvals. I applied on the 8th of July and have not heard back yet. It seems that some people who applied after me have already heard back! I am a bit worried because I didn't submit a NARIC certificate with my application. I only posted my ...

Re: slow approvals?

I don't think it has anything to do with this. Asylum cases are processed by a completely different team, with completely different approaches. Much more likely is that the introduction of biometrics earlier this year has led to a huge backlog in citizenship applications.

I think this "policy issue" may be a generic response. The same one was given last year, for example:

Re: June 2015 Naturalization Application TIMELINE ONLY

Well the spreadsheet shows that virtually all the people who applied in last week of april and even many from mid april have not been approved so its more likely that they are being done in batches. I think its totally unfair that applicants arent processedin the order they applied but this definit...

Re: March 2015 Naturalization application timeline

You just need to go and give your fingerprints at the station. There is nothing to worry about as you did not commit any offences. It's possible this was the result of identity theft (ie someone assuming your name), but that's why they are asking for you to provide your fingerprints to check if this...
