My other half will be applying for BC in a couple of weeks time. He never received a letter saying his ILR had been approved (he applied at a PEO but was caught up in the biometric results saga last year so no decision could be made on the day. The letter he received subsequently just says "you...

Re: any refund success?

Has any of you guys who were afftected by the IT issues and applied for a refund for the extra amount paid for the premium service managed to haul anything back from UKBA? You can try but the chances of getting a refund are about as slim as us having decent summer weather this year  We wrote a...

What we still need to sort out: Application form That would be a good place to start and then come back here if you have specific questions. Your initial post is far too broad - what advice are you looking for? It's highly unlikely you will get an appointment at a PEO before Friday so you will have...

Thank you again Ptagonian. I wonder how much it costs to go through the POE - do they give you the decision same day? I think my wife's case is simple. She has been living with me and dependent on me, which we can support by document stated in my initial post. She does not have any over stays. I do...

Thanks for your sensere advice. I am sorry I don't know what PEO is, can you please clarify? When making the application is it simple - I mean do I have to hire a solicitor or is it simply putting the supporting documentation with a filled out form? Is there a checking service? if so how much do th...

z4ydi that list looks fine. For the cohabitation documents you only need to supply 6 addressed to you jointly covering the 2 year period (Feb 11 - Feb 13 in your case). We submitted 7 at the PEO but took lots of extra ones in case they asked for them - they didn't want to see any more. We also subm...

Re: ILR Application currently on spouse visa

My wife has been doing self study to pass the test for Life in the UK test and she has not done an official course for the language test. Is that ok? or she must attend a college (very costly though)? If self study is ok where can she do the test - we live in Northwest London. http://lifeintheuktes...

You have absolutely nothing to worry about as the matter was NFAd. You were not charged/cautioned so you will tick "No" to the questions asking if you have any criminal convictions or charges

Re: Are we not allowed to travel while we are waiting for Bi

I am happy to say that today I was approved for ILR I made it a point to ask the caseworker about travelling abroad while waiting for BIO (yes the ILR approval letter that they give you at the PEO does ADVISE you not to travel until you have the biometric card). She said that if you had to travel o...

Patagonian there is no need to be rude. I happen to have a solid background in law so I do know what I'm talking about. If you can't be helpful please don't go around rolling your eyes at other people's opinion - keep it to yourself. I have a solid background in criminal law. "All crimes prove...

Re: Arrested/Charged - ILR query- Plz help!!!

In 2005 I was arrested and charged for shoplifting by Police and then released- all on same day in about 1 hours time. Magistrate sent me letter saying he decided not to prosecute me. I did not require to pay any Police or Court fine. The shop asked for prevetative loss fine of 150 which I paid str...

Yes. Driving without a supervisor in the vehicle may also invalidate your insurance policy so you may end up being summonsed for driving without insurance as well

When my partner applied recently we included the last 6 months statements for each of our current accounts and our joint account. Not sure if they needed all of those but better to include something they may not need rather than exclude something they're looking for!

I don't think it is a workload issue or a scam as some people have alleged. Some points to ponder: (1) PEO is not a same day service Agreed but the UKBA website advertises it as such - http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/aboutus/contact/applyinginperson/book-appointment/ "This page explains how ...

Hi, I was looking at the contents of the new Set(M) application which is to be used from 06th April 2012 and could not find the reference to days absent from the UK, which we used to fill in other application forms for ILR.
