I was thinking about that. Apply for your passport first. Probably the delay/"future refusal" is because I applied just after my partner got his citizenship, without waiting for the british passport. As you mentioned I will get my passport before applying BC for my wife. I travel a lot to...

Yes I see this in page 15. You need to send your old passport with which you entered the UK and the naturalisation certificate.

That is incredibly efficient. May I know why you say this is incredibly efficient? Even if we consider that UKBA received the application on 6th Jan 2011. Is it OK to send by post on Friday (11/02/2011)?

I received my ILR (5 years WP) on 12th February 2010. I wish to apply for BC through post. I planned to send the AN application by post this Friday (11/02/2011) so that UKBA receives on Monday (14/02/2011). Kindly confirm me whether my plan is OK.

Joint application is only for less application fee of £1010 together. Otherwise application wise just treat them as separate individual case. In your case, just produce the required tax papers if your wife is self-employed.

If you apply for the BC for both you and your kid, your passport will anyhow be included. The list looks OK as long as you are an employee and pay the tax by PAYE.
