Hi,

Many thanks for your response.

Do I need a letter from employer confirming absence from UK?

I have been in my current job since Jun 2009. Does it mean that I need to get letters from both current and previous employers? Is there any template available for such a letter?

Regards,

Ankur

After publishing this query, I found useful information on the following link: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas-immigration/working/tier1/general/settlement/ During the continuous residence period, you cannot be outside the UK for more than 180 days in any 12 consecutive months. The above sta...

Hi,

To clarify, my query was regarding British Citizenship and NOT about ILR. I would like to know the timescales for the registration and obtaining passport and if there is an option to expedite the process.

Hi,

Many thanks for answering my query.

How long does the process of registration and passport takes? The link you have provided states 3-6 months. Is there an option to expedite the process?

I am planning to travel soon after I get ILR.

It looks like Home Office updated the time incorrectly on their website earlier as the latest update says: During the week commencing 8 February 2010, we expect to be considering applications that were received on or before 15 January 2010. Please note that this timescale is a guideline only, and so...

Hi Sunny,

I am in a similar situation like yours right now. Used the wrong version of tier 1 (general) application form.

I would like to know the overstay dates you mentioned in D17. Was it from the date your visa expired till the date you posted the application?

Regards,

A.

Hi vks,

Once again, many thanks for the prompt reply.

I have a doubt regarding answering a question in the form that asks 'if you have overstayed'?

As my visa has expired and I will be resubmitting the application, should I answer this question as yes?

Regards,

Ankur
