Foxy, many thanks for the response. One small query. You wrote 'However, your passports may also suffice for this purpose, depending on what visa you have been on'. Please could you slightly expand on what exactly you mean by 'depending on what visa you have been on'. Thanks. I meant that if you if...

Thanks, I really hope you are right - i am getting sick with worry. Hi droogish, I think your research is sound - there appears to be two schools of thought depending on whom you talk to at the UKBA. That said, in your case, it happened 4.5 years ago, so even in the worst case scenario that you're ...

So many people on this thread having applied for ILR under 10 year continuous legal stay have received their ILRs of late....no one has any idea what are the 'standard documents' that have to be submitted when applying for citizenship after 12 months of receiving ILR (for those who have received IL...

Thanks again chaps :-) Kiwigal, thanks for digging up the rulebook. Much appreciated. TBH, I'd rather just do the tick box. I simply do not see myself trying to call the UKBA hotline again, if they return it, then great. Otherwise, the ticking will suffice! I forgot to mention my application was don...

Hello all, Some good news, finally!! Got the passport back in the post this morning, ILR issued from 02 March 2010. I only received my passports back, but my KOL certificate was not returned? Anybody know if this is normal? Very relieved this is all over, I hope the rest of the August 2009 and later...

which mean that for those wait over 6 months likely to wait 563 days to 2,060 days. That's not strictly true. The average is 563 days not the minimum. 2,060 is just the maximum figure. Also, consider that they count in working days (presumably to make the figures look smaller!), so 563 working days...

Potential delays and disruption for passengers and applicants - Wednesday 24 March http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/newsarticles/2010/255022/23-industrial-action make our cases even slow, unlikely to hear anything before easter! Wonderful news Croydon :) Re: the letters sent out by UKBA about the date from which you're free from immigration restrictions, I think these are only given to the HSMP JR people? It would make people a lot happier if they backdated the status of 10 year ILRs as well, given how much longer we're mad...

I don't think this should be an issue. Did you require a visa to visit France? If yes, then your visa validity and its start date would pretty much prove what was the earliest you could have entered. If you have a multiple entry or require no visa, then I am sure you would be subject to the 3 month ...

@NoWayOut Totall get how you feel - still I must say I am very pleased that at least some of our cases appear to be moving forward. All my visa renewals were abroad, my SAR doesn't have much in it, hope they don't make me sweat it out cos of that. Gave in 2 passports only too. My 10 years: Student, ...

I think it's safer for you to apply for leave to enter from your home country when you come back in case they refuse entry at the port. Read from paragraph 7 onwards at this link - it may help you understand the ramifications better.

That's correct NoWayOut. Just came across another applicant there who applied at least as late as December 2009 (as of 30 Nov 2009, he had not applied). He received a decision after 12 weeks! It was a refusal due a break in stay, so it could well be there is an initial screening and obvious refusals...

Great. Now I hear about someone getting their 10 year ILR in 2 weeks on the other well known forum. That person didn't apply for ILR under 10 year long residence rule. They were applying through EAA2/4 application. Not that it makes it any better. You're right. His 2 previous posts seem to su...
