It sounds like my partner didnt send as many documents as some of you guys. We didnt send 6 months bank statements for example and only had the gas and electricity bill in joint names for the past two years. We both sent wage slips and he had a letter from his employer with his latest salary increas...

Well the HO website is quite clear about the current waiting times of 14 weeks for 75% and up to 6 months for 95%. It sound too long to process IRLs but these are the service levels they advertise. My partner and I therefore provisionally booked a week off in June as it was just under the 6 months w...

Looking at some of the other forums it seems that there isnt really any set lenght of time depending on your application. I think you need to be patient and if you dont hear anything after the 14 weeks then you can start to contact them and see how they are progressing your application. The good new...

Hi Kindley, where are you from originally. It sometimes takes longer depend on where you are from and how long you have been in the UK. The longer you have been here it seems, the longer the applicaiton can take.

Yes it could be M4 corridor although I have read on other forums that quite a few people have had their IRL back last week stamped as 02 Feb so maybe they are starting to catchup with the back log they had late last year due to the snow etc.

So that took exactly 4 weeks. 12 Jan - send application 14 Jan - Acknowledgement letter and fee taken 08 Feb - Date of letter confirming Extention...

Well I think its both our partners you are asking about as I'm from uk. My Partner is from Brazil and came here on a Civil Partnership Visa ( Which he was granted 7 days after applying to the consulate in Rio De Janeiro, which must be a record too!). I think nellis83's partner is from Canada. We are...

Thanks! I went to the post office lunchtime but they said the delivery had not come back to the sorting office yet. I really hope this isnt just a request for more info and is the IRL. I'll update you tomorrow. If the iRL has been granted then it only took 4 weeks or 28 days since posting!

Wow, just after I did the last post I thought I'd check the post office checking website and found that it said my Special Delivery had left the delivery office. So I dashed home from work but missed the delivery by an hour. So now I have to wait to pick it up from the post office but might try late...

Thanks for the reply. On the website it suggested sending vi special delivery and if you want your items returned via special delievery then just enclose a self address one. However, I've read that most seemed to be returned without using the special delivery so seems a waste of the extra £5 I will...

Well congrats on getting your IRL. Did you get it back via the special delievery envelope you provided or did they return it via the post office or another carrier?

I'm trying to track our special delivery but I've heard that they dont seem to bother to use that method to return the Passports etc.

Yes I saw your post earlier regarding your getting your IRL granted after applying on 2nd Jan. I'm guessing that your case was very straight forward. I am expecting our case to be the same but it does seem also to depend on where you're from. My partner is from Brazil which doesn't seem to be such a...

SET(M)

We also didn't apply in person as it looked like getting an appointment in time would not be easy. Also we didn't want to spend even more money. However, now that I've seen that things can take a long time I wish we had spend the extra £200 for a 24 hour turn around. My partner applied for his ILR o...

My CP Partner applied for Set(m) and send on the 12th Jan, money taken 14th Jan and acknowlegement letter 15th Jan. We checked the website and already knew it could take 14 weeks to 6 months so haven't booked our planned holiday in June until we get our passports back. I am supprised by the number o...
