Non EU partner to Switzerland with British Husband - study

Hello My British husband and I are considering a move to Switzerland as I have been offered a job by my company there. I'm Australian, and would prefer to 'own' my visa rather than be sponsored. My husband is completing post grad studies this year in primary teaching, although doesn't know French, s...

Marriages abroad (outside EEA) recognised for Singh?

We're getting married in New York City (neither of us are Americans) in July, then we'll be going to Ireland where my British then husband will exercise treaty rights, and I will be an Aussie in Ireland on a Working Holiday Visa to keep the money trickling in. As our marriage is taking place in the ...

Can I apply for two EEA visas in two different countries?

Hello, me again. You've all been super helpful, and I'm learning through this process that I'm easily confused! :? Quick run down. I am Australian, 27 years old, 5 foot 2, allergic to cats and I've previously held a WHV for the UK - where and when I my my lovely future husband (in 8 weeks from today...

My understanding is that we couldn't get me to the UK directly through this type of visa, firstly he would need to exercise his Treaty Right (economically) for six months before he could take me to the UK with him on a similar visa. That's why we're going to Ireland first. I think the quotes at the ...

Hello, me again. OK, so if I was to apply for an EEA FP visa/resident card through my soon-to-be husband, can I do that type of thing from Mexico? Before we left for Ireland? I assume we have to prove 'sufficient funds'. I ask because this is the only application form I can find that seems relevent,...

Ok, thanks to both of you for the information, I appreciate the clarity. Yes, this would be after our marriage on July 15. We are planning on taking our apostilled marriage certificate to the British Consulate in NYC the following day. John - when you say ' why bother with the whv ?' Do you mean, th...

Confused - EEA FP, Surinder (non-EU+EU living in Mexico)

I've trawled the boards and am getting more and more confused! I am Australian, my future husband (marrying in NYC in July) is British. We have been living in Mexico working as TEFL teachers for a year, since my WHV for UK ended. We are relatively flexible, but want to stay together, we also earn pe...

Grrrr. Frustrating. Thank you for the information.

One further question - if he were to go ahead to the UK, and I were to wait here in Mexico for everything to get organised, would the application be lodged here in Mexico (where the applicant is) or in the UK (where the sponsor is)?

Brit + Aussie + Living in Mexico = Confusion!

Hello, I'm getting very confused about the Spouse visa process, and would appreciate some input if anyone has experience of applying for a UK spouse visa from another country. I'll break it down and make it as simple and brief as possible: - I'm Australian, travelled to the UK on a Working Holiday V...
