I've received a letter from UKBA dated the 25th June saying that a decision has been taken.  I know that a previous member (osteophytes) had an almost similar timescale but even then I really didn't expect a decision to take only about 1 month! Hope it's a positive outcome. One of th...

hello Durian, I am sure that you are getting your ILR very soon, the reason for the faster processing is because all applications submitted from mid April have been forwarded to the new process centre in Liverpool, those sent before April are stuck in Croydon or Sheffield. and if your application i...

Unfortunately it means they've not been able to claim your payment therefore have returned your application asking your to resubmit with alternative payment details. :( It's becoming quite common, especially with 10 year applicants. Check your card details on your application to see if your entered ...

Re:

Dear all When Home Office states that 95 percent of the decision is made within 6 months, is it correct that 1 month = 4 weeks? If that's the case, Beige, your 6 months is up at the end of June, and you could consider asking your MP to step in. I have already asked mine. his immigration advisor cou...

Passport Rqd travelling to Channel Islands from GB?

Hi I'm a bit confused. I need to travel to the Channel Islands and am trying to ascertain if I, as a non-EU citizen, need a passport if I am travelling from mainland UK. Some sites say no, others say yes. I can't find a definite answer. I'm in the process of apply for my ILR needless to say UKBA cur...

I agree with troubled, strange situation. The courts couldn't make a decision on your appeal because YOU didn't break the rules :? Appeals are for people like you; you tick all the boxes so no reason for UKBA to reject you. Now if you broke the rules then I can understand that outcome. Really don't ...

Unfortunately all options are going to be expensive. Even a simple ILR transfer. BC is a worthy investment and they will soon recover the money as gaining a job will be easier than it is for them now. It's either struggle financially whilst applying for BC or face long term unemployment IF they don'...

Why doesn't he apply for his British citizenship? It sounds like he's eligible and still has his mother's old passport as proof that he has residency. It would be quicker and easier than the alternative which is getting a Zimbawean passport and applying to get the ILR stamp transferred.

Hi sam_lam15

I remember reading from your previous posts that you received a reject in 2008/2009 and were going to appeal. How did you get on? Were you successful with your appeal?
