One of my friend wants to apply Tier-1 visa. He has completed Bachelor of Engineering. He can find engineering under the professional qualification. Is engineering degree considered as a professional qualification in UK.

I have read the guidance policy my understanding is that if I'm applying in india and my wife is applying then the maintenance is (2800£+1600£) = 4400£.

If i'm in uk, even if I'm there for one month the maintenance required is 800£+1600£ = 2400£

Please confirm
