Claiming points for working for a UK company from overseas

I desperately need 5 more points under the new rules :( in order to qualify... I work for a big UK company at its branch in another country. Do you think it's possible to claim UK earnings if I was physically based at a branch outisde the UK but working virtually with the UK team? I got my bonus let...

After entering within 4 weeks and going through the registration process in the UK, is it possible to come back to my home country and then visit the UK only for job interviews? If I do that then when would they start counting time for the ILR?

Dilemma: Applying for Tier 1 before or after getting a job?

Hi all, I qualify for a Tier 1 visa but I’d like to move to London only after getting a job offer as I’m now working and it makes no sense to leave my current job without securing another one. My dilemma is: should I apply for a Tier 1 only after getting a job in the UK? Or should I stamp the Ti...

Re: Wanna ask my boss to relocate me to UK, who pays for Tie

True, that's a good point. I'm planning my approach regarding how to request my relocation to the UK. I'm tending towards saying that I'll take care of the Tier 1 visa myself so that my transition to the UK will be smooth If i volunteered to pay for the Tier 1 visa then perhaps they might be more op...

Re: Wanna ask my boss to relocate me to UK, who pays for Tie

If i volunteered to pay for the Tier 1 visa then perhaps they might be more open to the idea of relocating me to the UK. What do you guys think? I want to ask my employer to relocate me to the company's headquarter in London on a tier 1 (general) visa. Should I volunteer to pay for the Tier 1 visa o...

Wanna ask my boss to relocate me to UK, who pays for Tier 1?

I want to ask my employer to relocate me to the company's headquarter in London on a tier 1 (general) visa. Should I volunteer to pay for the Tier 1 visa or should I ask my employer to pay for it?

Re: When did they change points awarded for previous earning

Good point. Well, in 2008 I was disappointed that I didn't qualify for the skilled visa but a couple of months ago I visited the site again and calculated my points and was pleasantly surprised to learn that I do qualify based on my salary and education. So i'm just curious as to when the rules have...

When did they change points awarded for previous earnings?

In 2008 I remember I was looking into the skilled immigrant visa to the UK but the points awarded for previous earnings were different. When did they change them?

From Tier 1 to ILR to Citizenship - How does it work?

After I enter the UK on Tier 1, I understand I will be able to get ILR after 5 years. After that, how long does it take to get British citizenship? What's the process like? Thanks!

I'm thinking of applying to UK jobs from my country only after getting the Tier 1 visa stamped on my passport. Then I'll line up some interviews and enter the UK.
