Do they have a license? If not, it will take a minimum of 6 months.

If they do have a license, perhaps someone else can answer that.

New Zealand. I still have 6 months before my visa expires but my company is only applying for a new license this week. I might book flights when there's 3 months left, just in case :( You've got plenty of time mate! Just make sure that your company has the correct documents, all properly certified....

What do you do in this case? Do you have a flight booked home? Last minute flights for me would cost me over £5000 for me and the missus.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but you having £50,000 isn't sufficient. You need to have £200,000 or get £50,000 from an FSA approved investor.

Edit: sorry my mistake - not true for PSW :)

According to this link: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/business-sponsors/points/sponsoringmigrants/ Our service standards set out how quickly we aim to decide sponsor licence applications. The standard is that we will decide 65 per cent of applications within 4 weeks. I suppose that is well off t...

i really would like to know what is like to be an it contractor. is there lots of demand out there? The demand for IT contractors is generally the same as for permanent employees - so at the moment it is rather bad and rates are low too. I've had better experience actually, it depends on what you d...

Switching Visas

Hi. Is there an allowed time limit between switching visas? Long story short - I got Tier 2 visa in May, and would now like to switch to a different visa. Will this be a problem? Longer story: I initially arrived in the UK in August 2008 under a Tier 2 general visa. The company that sponsored me wen...

Iran Travel

Hi. I'm a kiwi currently living in the UK. I need to travel to Iran every now and then for business (Iranian National Bank is a business partner with us). Now, I can travel to the US without a visa, but I'm wondering will my Iran visits ever have any effect on my entry into the US?

Thanks.

Also, whats the deal with leaving the UK to change certain visas? Do I need to return home or can I jump over to France and apply for a visa from there?

Thanks for your reply.

My wife is a work-permit dependent, so she is allowed to study for now (until the company shuts down).

Tier 2 Visa - Company Gone Bust

Hi. I'm a kiwi who's been in the UK since August 2008. I was sponsored by my company and wife came with me as a dependent. However, the company I work for has signs of going into administration (we haven't been paid for 2.5 months now!). What are my options? My wife is doing her Masters - she has an...
