Just another query: what date shall I use for question 2.1 - Enter the day you first arrived with a view to staying in the UK on a long-term basis.

Many thanks.
Put Sept 2002 when you first arrived.

What options did you choose when you tried to ring? Choose options as if you have already applied and then you should be able to speak to someone.

Nothing special about my application at all. The Guide AN indicates there can be an interview, possibly at the applicant's home. So I just wanted to check if anybody had such an experience, an dwhat questions to expect, etc. Dont worry. You are very very unlikely to be interviewed if there is nothi...

jandana, you will have to be very careful with your ILR application.

This whole episode involves dishonesty and they clealy say that any incidents involving dishonesty will not be ignored.

You must clear this matter before applying for ILR.

Have you asked her health visitor?

Must be a private ceremony Yes its got to be a private ceremony as Avis only got his approval yesterday. Actually, as you get your letter of approval, the council gets your citizenship certification letter which they give out only after the ceremony. Correct. All that the person did at the council was to ask me to repeat the pledge and then wrote the date on a pre-printed certificate. So have you alre...

Hello guys, I wonder if anyone can advise on this. My mother-in-law will be coming to the UK in the next 2 weeks on a 6 month family visitor visa. She might want to make a 3-4 day trip to Switzerland while she is here. My question is whether she will be able to apply for a Swiss visa from the U.K.? ...

Thanks tintin.. I didn't wait for a letter from the council; that will take its own time. I called up the council anyways and asked for the earliest ceremony date. They asked for the Home Office reference number and my first name and seemed to have a record of this. That was clever Avis. I'll try t...

Congratulations Avis.

Did the invitation letter come separately from the approval letter? I thought that one is suppose to ring the council to book the ceremony after the invitation letter is received.
