Do you reckon they have like an initial screening system where they review applications and those that could obtain ILR go in a pile for further consideration and straight refusals get instant notification? PS: Just read about people on the other forums who applied in Jan 2010 and were refused. Totally confused as to how UKBA are processing applications.

Well said foxy. we are in a mud now not knowing what is next and , yes it is delaying our citizenship process especially there implementing new rules in June 2010.
